Sopcast is amazing. Being a football (soccer) fan it is my main source for games. There are also many other streaming programs/sites.. such as:

http://www.atdhe.fr/ - NBA/NHL
TVUPlayer / http://www.tvunetworks.com/
http://livetv.ru/en/ - Mainly soccer / Euro feeds.

We are currently having database issues. These issues will most likely be solved this Saturday at 10 AM CET. Please visit our forum for more information regarding matches.

That shouldn't effect any current streams. People are saying the are watching them.

Register with their forum and ask someone to stream the game. I just did.
The more the better.

I was told today that the game is on the NHL Network...so it's on somewhere...someone just needs to share it.

IMPORTANT: Initial post in this thread updated with the following information :

NOTE: You may need to install VLC to view some streams. For those streams that require VLC, read this:

Sopcast/VLC note:
All streams on Sopcast can be viewed with VLC, though for a select few streams this is mandatory. Additionally, sometimes VLC can stream a few seconds or more ahead of what shows up in Sopcast itself, which can help reduce your lag between the stream's source and when you watch it.

To use VLC, download VLC at http://www.videolan.org and install it , then start the Sopcast stream and let it buffer. Then open VLC, go to Open Network Stream, select HTTP option, and type in 127.0.0.1:8902 (if not working, try port 8912). You MUST leave Sopcast running; closing Sopcast closes the stream. If the stream gives sound in both VLC and Sopcast, mute the sound on Sopcast, or hit the refresh button so the Sopcast screen goes blank, but the VLC screen stays intact.

Or try this: http://forum.myp2p.eu/viewtopic.php?id=22114

This worked for me when I was having trouble getting a stream to buffer fully and play.

Re: Watch Live Streaming NHL Games Online for FREE

The last 4 or 5 times I've tried to use Sopcast to watch the game, it has told me the "channel is offline now." Is anyone else getting this message when they use Sopcast? What, if anything, can I do to fix it?

That usually means nobody is streaming that game.
If that happens...you can go into their forums and beg nicely for someone to stream it.
They seem pretty sensitive...so if you bitch and complain, they won't stream it out of spite...so be careful.

If the stream starts to buffer and then hangs, you may need to download an additional application because they have changed things up a bit and an additional player is required. I have ammended the first post in this thread and included instructions for this additional download.

this post dosn't relate to sopcast, but just a general heads up for everyone. I have been using vlc since i was in school (about 4 or 5 years now, found it when i was a sophmore). it is the best durn video player out there by far (that I know of). I swear, i used to play the codec game and it used to drive me insane. i use vlc now and it plays everything from broken .avi files (sometimes it will even fix 'em for 'ya), incomplete videos, .bin and .cue files (dvd/svcd images (w/o having to mount the dvd)), etc, etc.... really, if vlc dosn't play it, i dont even bother looking for a codec anymore, its not worth the time wasted. This program is so freakin knarley.
