What does being lost on a Windows machine mean anyway? Why is that a barometer of computer competency? What about how lost Windows users are on Macs? How is that different?

That's a fair point about Windows being the "benchmark for competency". Uh, sorry, but that ain't the case.

And what about how lost most Windows users are...on Windows. In my experience that has been the case, not the exception. The same applies for OS X users as well.

So your point is that everyone sucks at everything?

The point, which clearly escaped our resident Mac yuppies, is that if you're goin gto go around mouthing off about how OSX is superior to everything else, then perhaps you should at least have a decent amount of knowledge about the products you are claiming are inferior.

Why do you have to act like such a colossal dick? Seriously? What is your problem?

Did a Mac kill your parents or something?

If you're not one of the Mac users I'm referring to then why are you so offended? Either you're not the prototypical douchebag mac user or you are. You pick.

No, I think the point is pretty simple to grasp, but I think the point applies to users of both operating systems.

I think OS just convinced me to get a Mac for next laptop.

Can one of you mac fanboys explain to me why I can't hook up and add songs to an Ipod to more than one computer without having to 'erase and sync' all the songs already on the ipod?

As someone who loathed Ipod's name-brand association for many years and now owns one I'll get this one...

It's stupid and only meant for copyright protection. To stop people from copying MP3s too easily as I'm sure you already knew.

This is a general pain in the ass and you won't hear an argument from me on this, but in general the Ipod performs better than the multiple players I had before it.

So, in other words, Apple assumed that anyone that owns an iPod doesn't own more than one computer with music that the own on them.

If Microsoft did something that god damn stupid, I think the world would spontaneously implode due to the internets outrage it would cause.

Just change it to manual sync mode and you can.

After all your bullshit spouting about how ignorant Mac users are, I'm amazed that you couldn't figure this out. Aren't you a super computer genius Windows guy?

It not like a google search could have answered your question or anything.

For some reason, I picture Sith styled lighting coming from OS’ hands when passing a Mac.

I'm surprised that OS even owns an iPod and not a Zune.

Well, you can move your DRM-free MP3s (and other music) formats from computer to computer pretty easily either using the iPod, portable storage or a network. Your purchases, with DRM, from the iTunes store are the only thing you're really limited with, but they'll let you play those songs on up to 5 authorized computers. If you've got computers that aren't authorized, get those authorized to assure your purchases will play.

Of course, as Kodos pointed out, everything gets much easier once you stop automatically syncing your iPod. That's always the first feature I turn off.

And if you're blaming Apple for the DRM they have on their songs then I'd suggest your frustrations would be better directed towards the record companies, not Apple.
