to AC... or not to AC???

We are pretty comfy at 77-78. Is it necessary at that temp to program the thermostat to ease up at night? This is our first digital/programmable. Any suggestions are welcome.

Funny, I was thinking that his description makes Fargo sound pretty damn delightful. Shoot, it's got to be better than the seething pit of anguish and despair that is St. Louis in August.ksbluesfan wrote:I'm convinced that if there is a hell, it will be a lot like Fargo, only less summer.fargoblues wrote:heater's still on in Fargo. hell, we had frost last week and most nights it's still in the 40s. our two weeks of summer are almost here though...

We couldn't be more different that way. I'm happiest when it's hot enough to swim all day, only breaking long enough to enjoy frosty beverages and BBQ. We had two solid months in Kansas City when the temperature never got about 20 degrees, and I was ready to die.Blueline29 wrote:Funny, I was thinking that his description makes Fargo sound pretty damn delightful. If the devil is keeping notes: hell for BL29 should be hot, and hell for me should be hotter.

God, heat freaking SUCKS. There are few worse feelings (excluding everything mentioned in the "things that feel better than the Wings winning the Cup" thread) that being outside somewhere, trying to maintain some sense of dignity and personal decorum, and having big fat globs of sweat running down your back.

What I've found is that it's good to ease it up the second half of your sleep, say from 3 to 7 am or whatever.deadphish wrote:We are pretty comfy at 77-78. It seems like your body temp cools off a bit after you've been asleep a few hours.
try that maybe
And 77-78 is high for us. We like it around 72.

Right on, Goonie. I dunno...77 is real chill in our 1100 sq ft ranch. Keep the blinds mostly closed and the ceiling fans rockin (counterclockwise) and I find myself comfy in pants and/or long sleeve tees. I might have to come down a few degrees as it gets hotter and more humid in the deep summer.goon attack wrote:What I've found is that it's good to ease it up the second half of your sleep, say from 3 to 7 am or whatever.deadphish wrote:We are pretty comfy at 77-78.
