Word Filters

To begin I am an un ashamed Independent Fundamental Baptist.

I am also a Blues hockey fan as well.

I really enjoy how quickly news regarding the Blues gets here, usually before any other source.

My only gripe with this site is the flagrant use of obscenities by forum members.

I try to avoid any topic that I can tell may contain any obscenities, but its not un common to walk into a GDT and see the F or S word or my absolute least favorite taking God's name and using it as a cuss word.

My suggestion is better policing, word filters or if you'd rather I will delete my account and just get my news somewhere else.

I really don't care for the last option. But, if it is necessary please indicate as much and I will leave.

When you see someone who posts offensive comments to you, you can always add them to your foes list, then you will not see comments that they post. You can do this by clicking on their profile. I don't think you will miss out on any of the news by ignoring a few people.

There is a word filter that is used here, but you are able to get around it by being creative with how you say things...

that might be something you could look into regarding your browser...i dont know, but i bet there is a browser out there that will recognize curse words and automatically insert a %$*! or something like that.

I use Firefox almost exclusively as a browser. If someone knows of such an extension I'd appreciate the help.

Excellent point STL. Most of the words I honestly don't let bother me.

The way I figure it most folks are "lost" and don't realize the impact that their choice of words has on their character. No harm no foul.

Using His name in vain really drives me up a wall. If there was a way at all to filter that one out at the V E R Y least would be deeply appreciated.

Don't misunderstand me I am a United States Marine (94-98 1st Mar Div 2nd Bn. 4th Mar. "Guns Up"). I have heard and yes used words much worse than any I've heard here. But, I believe that as great a board as this one is that its not like asking for a limb or the like?!

It's alright.. Even though I'm a staunch atheist I have no issue with people who are religious. But this is a hockey board not a political or religious one. That said this board does have a word filter, which other similar boards do not.
