I am surprised. I thought that even though Turek is shorter and heavier than listed, he would have still had a shot at playing a couple games in the AHL.No surprise here.
The Peoria Rivermen have shipped rookie defenseman Ryan Turek down to ECHL Alaska.
Turek did not appear in any games with the Rivermen.

Re: Turek farmed out
Ugh, spam post aside:
Turek has played great for the Aces. He generally plays paired with Derick Martin, and they are cut from a similar cloth. Both play very physically. Turek gets a lot of PK time and is more of a "defensive defenseman" but is not afraid to pinch in when needed. He's got a good slapper, and is a quick skater. With the injuries the Aces blue line has taken this year, I'm very glad we ended up getting him. The only thing I see against him in the AHL is his size, being only 6 feet could pose a problem.
