What would it take to get that fifth overall pick? LA doesn't seem to want it too much.

I wonder if 17th and Sonne could get us that pick?

What's funny, is he considers himself one of Pronger's best spooning buddies and he could have simply confirmed this story, but he always has to try out scoop everyone so to hell with fact checking. He can always pull down the page and deny what he originally said. He has egg on his face a few times this year at the Asylum because of this kind of stuff. He might be right this time though.

I call BS. Anaheim won't trade Pronger yet. Niedermeyer won't be around forever.

Question: Is Pronger's wife still being a super-fan by walking around Anaheim day in and day out colored orange?

I know she did a bronze for the Oilers/Canes Finals series, I was just wondering.

It seems like a lot to give up for a guy in his walk year. Especially when you aren't a cup contender this year. Plus, I thought they made it tampering to negotiate an extension before a deal, even if the Ducks give permission.

I love Prongs, but giving up a 22 year old stud for a 34-year old veteran is silly to me. The Kings are on a low-cost budget to save money for their youngsters in a few years, why bring in a high salary guy who has maybe 4-6 years left in him when you can try and lock up Johnson for a long deal?

This is a totally bogus rumor. Here is the scoop on that in case no one has read it yet: http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/2009/06/ ... s_pronger/

I don't know if I would trade him for Pronger, but Jack Johnson is so overhyped it isn't funny. He's not even the best defenseman on the team in LA, and he's constantly out of position trying to make a big hit. I kinda like the Kings, so I watch a lot of their games, and while he has shown flashes, he is way too inconsistent. Of course that may change in a year or two. That said, I'm not sure I would trade him for Pronger, and not because Pronger isn't a worthy return. I just don't think Pronger is the missing piece in LA, as mentioned before in this thread. On the other hand, it may work. They have Kopitar and Brown locked up for a long time, and everyone other than Frolov, Quick, and Doughty is expendable.

The writing is on the wall for Jack Johnson. He's trying to play hardball with Lombardi, and that gets you sent out of town on the next train. Look at what happened to O'Sullivan when he took the Kings to arbitration. Lombardi takes things very personally and carries a grudge against players who don't "fall in line". Word around the campfire is that Johnson wants 5.5 per...he's not worth half that, and he's as good as gone.

So...ummm yeah...did this trade ever happen?

Any word whether Pronger was seen hugging his Duck teammates?
