When informed of the news, Legace, sitting pensively on the bench, responded "Zzzzzzzzzzzzz".

I think the Rivermen need to sign him. Wasn't very impressed with Toivenen over the weekend and I know that Bishop isn't that good.
We need Legace bad!!!

I wonder if he still thinks he got the shaft here?

Legace may have run his course in the NHL.

I actually went to a Rivermen game last year and talked with an amateur scout from the Thrashers. I asked him why he was there and he just said he was passing through. I asked if it involved Legace and he smiled and said he wasn't at liberty to say.

I am sure that guy has been fired by now :-)

I'm sure he'll sign with the Wings and win the Stanley Cupz.

Legace may have run his course in the NHL.
:plusplus: I liked him for that one season, but he really went downhill... I don't know if this will be the definite end of his NHL career. It will certainly be kind of a Lalime situation for him for the rest of his pro-career though now that he was sent to the minors by the Blues and released by the Thrashers... not so good for him.

I know it's not the big show or anything, but at age 36, I wouldn't be turning down playing in the minors. Clearly past his prime and could solidify a position within an organization his post playing career... he farked himself with his pissy attitude in St. Louis.

He seemed to have a really good attitude last year when they sent him down to Peoria. I'd take him again.

Kind of weird. Atlanta isn't good by any means. Legace gets one start and stopes 25 of 27. I don't think he disappointed by any means, but they still cut him.

My guess is that attitude flaired up again.

I thought you didn't let player's agents and/or family post here.

I am just a Rivermen fan. He did have a good attitude when they sent him down. He helped out team out tremendously, especially in the locker room. At least that's the impression I got.

Maybe he put on a good face to some while he was down there, but he pissed and moaned on the way down there...and once down there, continued to talk trash. Go look up his Hockey News interview when the Blues were making the playoffs. He asked aloud why they couldn't play like that in front of him and continued to deflect blame to others.

So after he gets called out for his BS on the bench and what not, looking bored during games, etc. he decides he made a mistake so starts to kiss booty for the Rivermen.

Don't get me wrong, I liked Legace. But his performance was sub-par last year and should have accepted his backup spot on a professional hockey team considering how well Mason was playing. It's not like it affected his paycheck last year to play backup for awhile... Clearly Legace couldn't handle the backup role again though a la his tenure in Detroit, so I wish him the best...... in whatever European league he ends up playing in.

I guess I didn't know about the fit he threw. I just thought he did a good job for us when he was sent down.

I went and saw one Rivermen game last year and he did look stellar. But to be honest, playing in the NHL as long as he did he better be stopping the puck in Peoria.
