Ugh. Erik Johnson, you are not Bobby Orr... not yet anyway. Stop trying to win the game on every play.

So why exactly did Janssen play tonight?

Because his 2 shifts produce more than Berglund apparently.ohio BLUES wrote:So why exactly did Janssen play tonight?

Just got back to my room...good game. Got exciting in the end! Quick played a hell of a game, as did Mason. I kept hoping Janssen and Ivanans would mix it up, but I think special teams ruined that idea.

Another uninspired, craptastic effort. Piss poor passing. No hussle for the first half of the game. What happened to the team that played in Sweden?

If Berglund got benched tonight, Oshie should see the pine in the next one. He was horrific tonight. One of the worst players on the ice.
Steen and Perron showed up. No one else did.
Murray was a lot of talk before Thursday, but then he promptly coached a complacent, lazy team into peeing their good start down their leg.

Getting franking tired of this team only playing 10 minutes out of a 60 minute game.

Cam Janssen produced two of your best scoring chances in the first 50 minutes. Not only is that a credit to him, but an indication of how poorly the rest of the team played.ProngerBlues44 wrote:Because his 2 shifts produce more than Berglund apparently.ohio BLUES wrote:So why exactly did Janssen play tonight?

This team could easily be 0-4.

no hitting or aggression = loss
I swear, it's like they are purposely being lazy.

The passing was horrible.

Re: GDT: Blues vs. Kings (7:05 PM; FSM, KMOX)
IMO, Blues players took too long looking before shooting. Several times Blues players received nice flat passes and instead of immediately shooting the puck, they stopped and looked. That stop and look time was all Quick needed to slide and square on the shooter who chose to wait, instead of firing the quick shot. The Blues made Quick look like a friggin' all-star.
As to Oshie, this was his first game at Center. I'd give him a little time to adjust.
As to adding Cam Janssen, if he's only going to play 5 minutes and 2 seconds, what was the point of him being in the lineup at all? Balanced, aggressive lines across the board were what the Blues used to beat Detroit. They haven't done that in either of the 2 home games. When Andy McDonald is playing over 20 minutes and a defenseman (AP) is playing less than 15, something isn't right in Blues country. AP only played 13:20 in this game. AP is supposed to be an offensive defenseman who would add presence from the point. If this is the case, why did he see only 6 seconds of ice time total during the Blues 5 power plays?? Why keep 4 forwards on every PP with Pietrangelo on the bench. Supposedly, that was his strong point when he was drafted. His weak areas which needed work were being more physical, being aggressive and being more assertive in the defensive zone. None of these have any bearing on manning a point on the PP.

That team is still stuck in customs. They should be delivered to their hotel sometime next week in Phoenix.....strocklen083 wrote:Another uninspired, craptastic effort. Piss poor passing. No hussle for the first half of the game. What happened to the team that played in Sweden?

A question for the board:
Is Johnson passing the puck too damn hard or is his teammates unable to handle the passes?

Re: GDT: Blues vs. Kings (7:05 PM; FSM, KMOX)
Hopefully having until Friday before they play again will help them get their shit together.
And I think Murray playing Cam over Berglund had more to do with sending a message to Berglund than it was to get more productivity with Cam over Bergs. And I thought Petro looked pretty good in our own end when he was out there, he seemed poised and didn't seem nervous or hurried.
We still haven't found much of a transition game, but that goes back to the shitty passing.

I don't know man, there was one shift in particular that Petro lost the puck twice in his own end. I wanna say it was in the second period. Overall though, he did look better than Jackmansection319 wrote:Hopefully having until Friday before they play again will help them get their shit together.

If Murray is going to play this sending a message game, he needs to sit Oshie next game. He has been dreadful this season thus far IMO. Playing him because he is a fan favorite does not do it for me.

IMO it's the latter. I've seen a lot of misplays in the passing department, even with slower ones.SIU LAW wrote:A question for the board:

Re: GDT: Blues vs. Kings (7:05 PM; FSM, KMOX)
They are probably just in shock that a Blues defenseman can actually pass the puck.
