I swore I dreamed that Keith Tkachuk attempted a spin-o-rama in the 3rd last night. Turns out, it was real. Hmmm....

I liked the new line combinations. The Blues actually showed up and played a complete game. If we can keep playing like that, we're going to win a lot of games. Great win! :letsgoblues:

Oh, yeah, Carlo did play a horrible game defensively. He did make one good diving play to knock the puck off a duck's player's stick in a odd man break, but it could've been because he fucked up to begin with. I don't remember how the play developed.

Strachan looks good. Kariya only played 13 minutes.
I love hockey. Period.

I found this over at the Asylum in the "From Their Perspective" thread that compiled quotes from Ducks message boards...
Quick someone spray Conklin's jersey Red so he'll suck again
Made me smile.

Bearing in mind that Conklin was 25-11 as a Wing with a .909 save percentage, far superior to Osgood. I would hardly say that sucks as suggested in the aforementioned "from their perspective".

I think Kariya might have been playing sick, he looked like he could barely move out there.

While Kariya only played 13 minutes, Walt only played 13 minutes. Only 1 forward played less than 10 (Janssen) and only one defenseman played more than 20 (Colaiacovo) while Strachan had the shortest ice time for D-men. Balancing shifts that much across the 4 lines and across the defensive pairings is something I haven't seen from any Blues team and they've done it for the most part in every game this season. Even the President's Trophy winning team. That kind of balance goes a long way when they start having close games in the 3rd period, since the top lines will actually be more rested than teams using the top line, 2nd okay scoring line, checking line, barely plays line approach.

I'd expect Strachan's ice time to increase after the way he played vs the Ducks. Colaiacovo needs to be throttled back a bit and start playing more responsibly in his own end.
