Much less a Sergei Varlamov rookie card??kodos wrote:Is there a rookie card from the last 20 years that's worth more then a buck or two?
I have Crosby's and Ovechkin's rookie cards (Upper Deck base set and Fleer base set) and last I had checked they were at $75 and $80 respectively.kodos wrote:Is there a rookie card from the last 20 years that's worth more then a buck?

Heck if I know. The little "Notice of Authenticity" blurb on the back of the card was the only thing that told me. Complete with an automated signature from Upper Deck's president.Hallplante wrote:How does one tell the difference between the boards from the Arena as opposed to another venue?

do you still get a stick of gum with the cards?WaukeeBlues wrote:I have Crosby's and Ovechkin's rookie cards (Upper Deck base set and Fleer base set) and last I had checked they were at $75 and $80 respectively.kodos wrote:Is there a rookie card from the last 20 years that's worth more then a buck?
There are others I haven't checked the price on in forever but those two are my most valuable I think.
They fluctuate all the time. I'd imagine Crosby's went up $5-10 since the 'guins won the cup.
I neglected to sell my Andrew Raycroft prospect when it was at $55 when he won the Calder cause I thought he'd have a great career. Now I'd be lucky to get $5 for it.
I haven't bought cards in forever but I still snag a few when I feel like it. You do it because you enjoy it, not because it's profitable, that's for sure.

nope. Still find gum in old 1990 packs that you can get for $.10 at garage sales.abc789987 wrote:do you still get a stick of gum with the cards?WaukeeBlues wrote:I have Crosby's and Ovechkin's rookie cards (Upper Deck base set and Fleer base set) and last I had checked they were at $75 and $80 respectively.kodos wrote:Is there a rookie card from the last 20 years that's worth more then a buck?

Osgood? Seriously?gaijin wrote:I haven't read every page in this thread, but has anyone mentioned Osgood?
You're probably right. Definitely not the worst. It just seemed like at the time of the signing, the biggest problem we had was inconsistent goaltending, and Osgood was going to provide some semblance of stability. I don't think anyone expected show-stopping performance, but what we got was disappointingly sub-par. Another kick in the jimmy, this time from a former (and future) Red Wing.TSUCookieMonster wrote:Osgood? Average, yes... but not worthy of this list. I don't recall him being labeled the "Goalie of the Future" or anything when the Blues traded for him. I would not mention Osgood with the likes of Lalime, McLennan, Sanford, Johnson...goalies who had big chances and consistently let down. Just my opinion.
