Favorite NES/SNES Game?
Only 8 and 16-bit goodness here. I guess Genesis can be okay too if you went the SEGA route...
NES: Super Mario Bros 3
SNES: NHL '96 or Donkey Kong Country

Zelda was probably my favorite on NES. I almost made it to the end and then an annoying neighbor brat erased my game. I gave up after that.
On SNES, my friends and I played Mortal Kombat non-stop. And it was funny everytime somebody said "I'm Liu King for you... I can't find you!" or Johnny Cage punched somebody in the balls.

You must not have played much NES. I probably played thru Zelda from start to finish 10+ times.big d note wrote:Zelda was probably my favorite on NES. I almost made it to the end and then an annoying neighbor brat erased my game. I gave up after that.

Re: Favorite NES/SNES Game?
Ugh, you guys raised some conflict within myself about my decision. Blades of Steel was AWESOME and is > Ice Hockey. I forgot about Zelda when I made this thread...such a great game
Bionic Commando
Double Dragon
Metroid
Mario Kart, so good.
Mario World... so awesome.
Is it just me, or are games just not as innovative nowadays? Other than 'Master Chief' (which I never played, by the way), nothing beats Link, Samus, Mario, Kirby, Icarus, the Belmonts in Castlevania... even Sonic for Genesis players.
Edit: Master Chief is in NO way better than those listed later, I didn't mean it to sound like that.

Re: Favorite NES/SNES Game?
I've just never been that into (or good at) video games. I probably had 8-10 NES games total and I've only "finished" a small handful of games ever. I've still got my NES in a box in my basement though, along with my PS2 that I used more for watching DVDs than playing games.kodos wrote:You must not have played much NES. Re: Favorite NES/SNES Game?
If your NES is functional and in good shape, you can get a decent amount of money for it. Or at least the capability of trading in somewhere... you should do that and buy a Lindros Quebec jersey and confuse everybody, lol.big d note wrote:I've just never been that into (or good at) video games. My PS2 is also in a box... I bought it with about 10 games for $90 from my old boss and never played anything but Grand Theft Auto on it. Bleh, whatever. It was worth it, even if it was just a bunch of hookers on a beach.

Re: Favorite NES/SNES Game?
I was a Sega Master System and Genesis guy.
SEGA had some great games, most were better than a lot of Nintendo's games IMO...but SEGA lost in terms of quantity of games. Too bad Nintendo blackmailed most video game manufacturers in that if they wanted to create a game for NES, they weren't allowed to create it for any other system. And of course, all video game manufacturers wanted to make games for the NES since it was the most popular, so SEGA was forced to make a lot of their own games...and they did quite well.
SMS:
- Phantasy Star - might be the best 8-bit video game of all time. Outstanding game.
- Zillion
- Alexx Kidd
- Great Baseball
- Out Run
- Hang On
- Astro Warrior
- Wonder Boy in Monster Land
- Rambo
Genesis:
- NHL 94
- Road Rash
- Sonic the Hedghog
- Joe Montana Football 94
- Toe Jam and Earl
I'm drawing a blank on some others... can't think right now.

NHL 94 was too easy. Just be the Leafs and try a one-timer.....from anywhere on the ice.

Re: Favorite NES/SNES Game?
Simon's Quest? Really? I remember playing that and being like... wtf. Not a bad game, but I'm surprised someone mentioned it on this board. To me, it'd be like mentioning Zelda 2: Adventures of Link as your favorite game, as opposed to the original Zelda title. Not a bad game, just surprising that you mention it. Which reminds me, A Link To The Past hasn't been mentioned yet. Such a great game, I remember playing that in my bedroom sitting around and drinking the Sunkist that I hid from my older brothers.Ruutu15 wrote:NES: Simon's Quest, RBI Baseball

Anyway, Simon's Quest. Here is a video you all should watch if you haven't seen it yet. May be a bit long for some, but the quality is good and so is the information. Plus it's very funny.
Any other games????????????
