Yeah, sorry...gotta disagree.DaDitka wrote:That's where everything is wrong. We stood around way too much. D-man were out of position constantly. We couldn't complete a pass. We play that exact game five more times and we’ll lose four of them in regulation.
Everyone one in attendance stated over and over in between each period how lucky we were to even be in this game let alone winning.
I know how hard it is to see blown assignments, standing around, and confused defensemen on TV, but what surprises me is how no one noticed the choppy play, poor passing, and lack of pressure.
As for our 5 worst games, I stated one of our ‘5 worst efforts’ and I truly believe that. There was as much standing around and floating as I’ve seen out of this team in weeks. I can’t say it was one of our worst ‘games’ because we converted on some chances, but the effort was not up to par at all.
It’s funny because this team struggled scoring last year two, so that should be no surprise. The lack of effort is quite concerning and IMO the difference between the second half run last year and our current circumstances.
And you keep saying, "everyone in attendance"... a bit of an exaggeration, don't you think?
Maybe you should rephrase that to, "the half a dozen people that I talked to at the game".
And I'll say that 19 times out of 20, with less than a minute to go and if Zetterberg flips that exact same backhand in front, it doesn't go in off of Jackman's arm and we win the game.
They played well and were in position to win a game vs. the Wings with less than a minute to go...it was a flukey loss...I wouldn't get hung up on this one too much.
If anything, you should be upset at Murray for putting Jackman out there with a one goal lead with less than a minute to go. EJ should have been out there instead.
