Shit boys, I still use my PS2 as my DVD player. Screw putting it in a box. My roommate also had a Sega Saturn. NHL 96 on it was very nice, as was the sewer rat or sewer patrol game or something that came with it. Great game. NHL 94 is without a doubt the single greatest sports video game ever. Well, I actually like 93 better, but 94 was chock full of improvements. Still have my Sega Genesis in a box with a shitload of games for it.

Simon's Quest? Really? I remember playing that and being like... wtf. Not a bad game, but I'm surprised someone mentioned it on this board. To me, it'd be like mentioning Zelda 2: Adventures of Link as your favorite game, as opposed to the original Zelda title. Not a bad game, just surprising that you mention it. Which reminds me, A Link To The Past hasn't been mentioned yet. Such a great game, I remember playing that in my bedroom sitting around and drinking the Sunkist that I hid from my older brothers.

Anyway, Simon's Quest. Here is a video you all should watch if you haven't seen it yet. May be a bit long for some, but the quality is good and so is the information. Plus it's very funny.

Any other games????????????

Yeah, I know it's random, but I did love Simon's Quest. I liked the different elements of the game; the whole night/day thing, and the strange way that you had to complete the game. I usually played sports games, even back then, but I loved that one and it just stuck. It was a lot less linear than the first Castlevania.

True, very different. The whole day/night thing WAS cool and pretty unique for that time period. Awesome music though, even if I wasn't overly crazy about the decision to make it non-linear. Still a great game though even if the Angry Video Game Nerd hates it, I thought they executed the non-linear mode in Castlevania 3 the best. Still somewhat 'linear' but kind of the "choose your own adventure" thing. Thought that was cool.

Breaking the terms of the thread, best non-linear Castlevania game was Symphony of the Night though in my opinion. Ever play it? Bought it at Montgomery Wards for $10 before they shut down.

I rented that once for my SNES (back when people rented games). I agree, it was a LOT of fun and my dad even played, and he never played/plays video games.

Anyone remember how ridiculous it was when Mortal Kombat 2 came out into the arcades? I didn't believe my older brother when he told me that it was out (before the internet in my household). We went to the mall and there was a HUGE line to play it... and it rocked. Totally superior to the original in every way. I kind of think of MK2 as the beginning of the end of arcades. There are a few left, but since the home consoles surpassed the quality of arcade games (generally speaking), arcades are hard to come by. There is a good one at the Lake of the Ozarks on the strip that has all the old school games, but it seems like most are just underage casinos nowadays...
