Is Bergy done here?

Post by strocklen083 »

He sat again last night in favor of Cam. When he does play he's not playing more than 10 minutes a game. It's kinda hard to believe a guy who showed so much talent last year continues to watch from the press box in favor of a fighter/grinder. I know he's not having a great season offensively, but neither is anyone else. I get the feeling they're just waiting for the right type of deal to flip him.

It's unfortunate because of the promise he showed last year. I partially want to blame Murray for what's happened but at some point the player has to shoulder the blame for not executing no matter what system they're playing under. I'm still hopeful he can pull it together but it's kinda hard if you're watching from 5 stories up.

What do you guys think?

I don't understand why he's not in Peoria playing some games, whether they're looking to trade him or not. I definitely would like to see him stay with the Blues, but it will never work with Murray as the coach. Bergs is lost right now.
I love hockey. Period.

Unless the return for Berglund is very good, I would hope that management would fire Murray and try a different coach before trading a supposed future star like Berglund.

Berglund is still very young...it would be silly to give up on him this early in his career.

I know heading into the season, many in the organization believed Bergie had the highest ceiling of the three kids.

Al in particular referred to him as a future star, and even stated that he did not believe Murray was handling him properly.

I completely agree with both points. Unfortunately I dont see the first happening any time soon. Which in turn has the potential to limit his development and possibly see him leave via trade if he doesn't turn things around soon.

I hear lots of people say that or quote players on the team as saying so. But IMO he's regressing this year by sitting so much. It might just be a "change of scenery" thing. But the only scenery that I think needs to change in order to help him (and some of the other young guys thrive) is the coaching.

When Berglund was in Sweden, I remember Ehijo (where have you been??) posting that Berglund tended to get down on himself very quickly when he wasn't playing well. He is probably putting a huge amount of pressure on himself this season. I wonder if the Blues have a sports psychologist on staff that can help with situations like that?

I sure hate to see him traded and flourish somewhere else, but maybe he will never be a star player in the NHL. How long do you give him before you write him off as Backman 2.0?

It seems WAY too early for that. Backman never flourished in the first place where as Berglund had a solid season last year.

system system system!
Matt Cassel is not a good QB. Put him in a good system and he is Tom Brady.
Im so tired of Murray and the rest of the front office.
They have completely wasted 30 games. Good job, jackoffs

Do you have a soccer example for Reel? He's into that kind of thing more than American football.

Maybe Tom Brady is a system QB. He's never been in any other pro system other than Belicheck's. Just sayin'.

Oh and Glen...Landon Donovan anywhere but the US sucks. He's the greatest international American goal scorer but when he goes to any other league, he performs pretty poorly.

I think even an 8 year old with the mental capacity of a retarded chimp would automatically know that statement wasn't meant to be taken literally.

Nice to hear from you again though Jeffro, how have you been, how's life?
