GDT: Minnesota @ St. Louis -- 7pm -- FSMW & KMOX, NO DISH

Post by cprice12 »

From JR:
St. Louis Blues vs. Minnesota Wild
01/14/2010

WHEN — 7 tonight

WHERE — Scottrade Center

BLUES PREVIEW — The Blues have scored three-plus goals in each of their last eight at Scottrade Center. They are 26th in the NHL, averaging 2.45 goals a game at home. Montreal (2.39), Detroit (2.36), Toronto (2.34) and Columbus (2.22) are behind the Blues.

WILD PREVIEW — Minnesota is playing for the second straight night following Wednesday's game in Vancouver. In the history of the franchise, the Wild have a record of 1-4-3 on the second night of back-to-back games in St. Louis. The lone victory was in a shootout.

WHAT TO WATCH — With two goals in Tuesday's 4-1 win over Columbus, the Blues' Alex Steen has seven goals in his last seven games at Scottrade Center. He has nine goals this season, just two on the road.

INJURIES — Blues — D.J. King (hand), doubtful. Wild — D Clayton Stoner (groin), RW Chuck Kobasew (knee), D Brent Burns (concussion) and C Pierre-Marc Bouchard (concussion), out.

— Jeremy Rutherford
I guess McDonald will be back in the lineup. Good news.

Minnesota won on Wednesday night against Vancouver, 5-2. They've won 4 in a row now.

The Blues are looking for their 3rd straight win.

This is a hugely important game for St. Louis. New coach...they've won their last two and are trying to turn the season around and go 3-2-1 under Davis Payne.
They came out and played a good game vs. Columbus on Tuesday. A repeat performance against a team they aren't far behind in the standings would be a nice step on the long road back.

Minnesota will be pretty hungry, though. They're a lot closer to that playoff spot than the Blues are currently. Hopefully the home ice monkey is off our backs now, and we can take advantage of Minnesota playing back-to-back.

Payne has them relaxed to the point it looks like they could just as easily be playing pond hockey and they actually look like they are enjoying themselves. That being said however it would not surprise me to see this go to a SO. I hope our goaltender is sharp tonight.

Let's go Blues!! :letsgoblues: I have to DVR this one. I hope they stay consistent with their play. 3 of the 4 (not counting the Chicago game) under Payne have been played well.
I love hockey. Period.

No, it isn't. Saturday's game is, however.

We should have an auto-filter that changes Dish into Doosh, or something. I honestly cannot believe the Blues have sit pat on the issue for so long. It's a huge middle finger to Blues fans, by all parties involved.
