tbh I don't think anything the team could have done in the offense would have helped the team be better than last year with the loss of Oshie/Perron/McDonald.

How so? What should they have done differently here? You can't stop somebody from being claimed, not can you force another team to sign somebody so that you can claim them.

Our team is very solid when healthy. And, it was built primarily from within which is a sign of good management.

This is a GIANT slap in the face from the Sharks Management. It's like a declaration of war. A complete low blow. The lowest of low blows.

Seriously. The Sharks look like an All-Star team of offensive talent compared to the Blues. Even compared to a non-injured Blues. One of the Sharks players knocks out the closest thing to an offensive star we have and when we try an act of total desperation to replace him, THEY STEP IN AND STEAL OUR GUY.

It's unbelievably ****ed up.

15 years from now, we'll all look back fondly and say, 'Remember that magical winter of 2010-2011? Remember those amazing 24 combined hours that Marek Svatos and Kyle Wellwood were members of the St. Louis Blues? What a great time that was.'

I like that. But also I wish some of the newer posters would hold off the dumb comments. "Built from within"? Our AHL team is older than our NHL team.

Why didn't the go for Satan a month ago while they still could? No waivers. Or give Svatos or Wellwood a second year to scare other teams off? Just poor management to be in this predicament and even poorer ability to maneuver once they are caught up in it.

The core of our future is Backes, Oshie, Perron, Pietrangelo, and Johnson. All were drafted by the Blues. McRae, same thing. Jake Allen, Vladimir Tarasenko, and Jaden Schwartz, who are all expected to make an impact in the future, drafted by the Blues.

Who cares about the average age of Peoria? That doesn't change how we acquired the core of our future. We've acquired some roll players elsewhere, and Halak was from a trade. But, the core of our future was drafted by the Blues. So, yes, we are mainly built from within.

And, who cares that I joined LGB a month or two ago? Really? That makes my opinion less thought out? I'm 25 now, and my family has had season tickets since I was 12, and now I buy them with my dad. Just because I'm new to the site doesn't mean I'm new to being a fan of the Blues. Feel free to disagree with anything I say. But, at least back it up with something other than me being a "newer poster."

Ok first off if you took exception to my post I apologize. We have some new people on here that are a little biased by the STL media. I will be at the game Saturday so I will buy you a beer to make amends if you like.

Now let's look at the facts of your post. Oshie is a good "blue collar" player. He is the kinda guy you need/want on your team. However he is not a superstar outside of STL. Perron, well all we can hope is that he can come back and not have a soft head. Pie is playing so much better than Johnson it's not funny so Johnson is under achieving. Taresanko we are not even sure if he is leaving the KHL. He is playing well over there but the talent in the NHL is bigger and faster so we don't even know if he is going to be an impact at all. Basil's kid so far I'm please with him and Reaves. That being said our core as you call it is pretty weak. We do not have a legit 30+ goal scorer on this team. Until we get someone who can consistently put up numbers we are going to be an also ran. Our front office is very weak in scouting and running the team this is not a secret. More to come after I treat some patients.
