Cheap hotel near Scottrade?

Post by Kreegz2 »

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see the team win it's first series in a decade, splurged on a ticket and a flight (I'll be in section 320 wearing a white clown jersey with no name/number). Any recommendations for a cheap hotel near Scottrade? It doesn't have to be fancy or anything, I'm trying not to spend more than 100$, but I realize that might be tricky on a Saturday night though.

Also what are the good bars in the area that Blues fans go to after the game? I haven't lived there since I was 10 so I don't know the area, although from what I've gathered from reading these boards over the years is that Union Station is now only a good place to go to if you want to get mugged. :goblues: :goblues: :goblues: :goblues: :cup:

I would try the Drury. It has a bar in it, is right across from Harry's and is walking distance of Scott Trade and Harry's has a $2 trolly to the game. Not sure on cost, might check priceline and others. I will be in 316. PM me if you want to have a beer before the game and I will give you my cell.

I appreciate the offer, but my plane doesn't get into St. Louis until 5:35 (only ticket I could get, praying it doesn't get delayed). It's been years since I flew into town for a game, I forget how long the metrolink ride is to the Scottrade, hopefully not too long. If everything goes right I should get there right before the game starts.

The Metrolink is pretty slow. It will be at least a 45 minute ride out.

The game starts at 6. I'm afraid you are going to be running late. Might try a flight into mid america.

The ticket I bought says 6:30. So does nhl.com. Am I missing something?

Well you have less then an hour to get off your plane, get to the metro-link, what for a train (could take 10 + min),take a 40 - 45 minute ride, get from the metro to the Scott, and get to your seat.

Hopefully face off will be running a bit late as it usually is with National television and you wont miss face-off.

Do you have a carry on bag? You might have trouble getting that into the Scotttrade.

I live 5 mins from the airport, if you need me to take you to the hotel I guess I could miss part of the first to take you down there.

oy that came out bad.

I can grab you from the airport, take you to hotel, and drop you at the kielscottsavtrade centres. That should save you some time, and if you can't get to the hotel easily, I'd come back downtown I guess?

If you miss the opening faceoff, there's no point in even going. The other 99.9% of the game then becomes meaningless. 8)

Didn't even think about the carry-on. I just got off the phone with USAirways and was able to get my connection in Charlotte moved up. I get in to St. Louis at 3:40 now 8) . Anyone want to meet up near Scottrade for some beers beforehand?

And I really appreciate the offer to help me out sseagle, that was very generous of you. Thanks.

Haha, trust me I'm not too picky on where I bed down.

Slept there for 5 months.

Your hospitality really means a lot to me sseagle, but I got a really good military rate at the Sheraton across the street from the Scottrade. I'm still down to meet up for a few drinks before the game if anyone wants to.
