He'll get tons of girls and money in either country.

He might end up being richer in Russia, but either way he'll be rich.

Would you rather be rich as hell in America, or slightly richer as hell in Russia?

not_a_wings_fan wrote:The stuff I have seen suggests he's making almost 3 mil per year and paying jack shit for taxes on it. It's not just the dollar figure, it's the costs as well. He won't get an entry contract that will pay him that much in the NHL, and if he's just going to ride a bus for a year he won't come over either.

@goon - he would have left russia two years ago if the stanley cup/playing in the USA was important to him. As far as ego - you really think he would get more ass over here than what he is pulling in Russia? Cause I am sure he's got more poon, less supervision, and mafia contacts at home.
I find it hard to believe the $3 mil per year (unless you are talking rubles). Cervenka (best KHL playoffs scorer) just signed with Flames for $3.78 mil, which makes me think he was getting less in Russia. It is almost impossible to glean any info about individual KHL contracts but the max salary allotment per team in 2011 was 700 000 000 rubles (just over $23 mil). I don't see how a fourth-line winger, at 20, would get 13% of the team's total salary pool. My guess is he is somewhere in $500k - $1mil range.

I was thinking about this last night. Could the timing of his announcement benefits us? It sounds like he already has his mind made up. If he's leaving Russia, maybe he wants to finish playing in the World Championships to announce it. I don't know, maybe I'm reaching on this.

I don't think that's necessarily true. I don't know how much he makes, but it's certainly more than he would have made in the AHL. The common theme between AHL and KHL (his two options of where to play) is that neither can win the Cup. And, it seems super unlikely he would have been on the Blues roster at age 18. Now, at age 20, he can come over and still be basically guaranteed a roster spot, he was able to develop in his home country and make more money than he would have here in Peoria. If I was him, I would have done the exact same thing to this point.

Whatever the worst possible outcome for us... that's what is going to happen.

He's either going to come here and suck, or stay there and become the Wayne Gretzky of the KHL.

There is no other possible outcome.

Google. Have you ever seen how easy it is to find boobs?

I once typed in "Fully-clothed Almonds driving Dump Trucks" and sure enough, human boobs were on my screen.

Tarasenko has yet to be included in the Russian team for the WC, which to me is very surprising. Does anyone know about possible injuries to him?

If Russia's way of keeping him is to hold him out of games then that has to play in our favor. Unless of course he's actually injured.

First the Blues sale is reported to be finalized, then Brett Hull rejoins the organization and now Tarasenko is coming over?
