Is Tarasenko presently stateside? No telling what Putin might do to his plane if he's not already out of Russia.

Imina take a guess and say that Tarasenko's plane flew under Putin's radar. Took long enough to get him over here as it is.glen a richter wrote:Is Tarasenko presently stateside? No telling what Putin might do to his plane if he's not already out of Russia.

Re: Tarasenko coming to the Blues!
Great news on Tank.
As far Swartz....it sounds as though they were a little disappointed in him. I don't think they would have wasted that year just to let him sit, and I know that twice now JR has suggested that he believes the team would prefer for him to start next year back down in Peoria.
Of course that is all subject to what happens in the offseason and how he looks in camp. But he's said that was the general vibe he's gotten from the organization.

Re: Tarasenko coming to the Blues!
Good news.
Looks like Tarasenko's comments rang true. He said it was his dream to play in the NHL. He said he wanted to come over, and he did.
He could have easily done one of two other things...
1) Stayed in Russia another year or longer because of the NHL labor issue being up in the air. It would have sucked, but you couldn't blame him for doing that if he had.
2) Waited to say he was coming over (or not) until after the labor issue got resolved, which could have been closer to the start of the season or even into the season.
Props to him for not just spewing talking points and actually saying how he felt when he said he wanted to come over. And good on him for coming over now so he can do what he needs to do before the season starts and to get ready under the close eye of the Blues.
It's going to be fun to watch this whole scenerio play out. Hopefully he is the same dynamic/impact type player in the NHL that he was in the KHL.
He can't be worse than Karamnov, right?

Re: Tarasenko coming to the Blues!
So he signed a 3 year entry deal? So he is officially signed with us and we don't have to wait till July 1st?

Re: Tarasenko coming to the Blues!
As I understand it, Blues and Tarasenko have agreed in principal, so all that is left to do is put the names on the line. But, they can't do that until July 1 because anybody from the KHL who isn't signed by June 1 has to wait for July 1 according to the CBA. Not sure what the purpose of that rule is though.

Sounds like good news, but don't buy a jersey until after July first when the ink dries.

Re: Tarasenko coming to the Blues!
All these reports today about him signing in the KHL are BS
The team was merely reserving their rights to him should he decide to return and play in the KHL.
