Re: Is Cole ready to make the next step?
I say yes, since he'll have a full season in some other professional league while the NHL is locked out to further hone his skills. Hopefully he and Pie both sign on with the same team so they can practice playing together in time for the lockout to end in 2013-14.

Re: Is Cole ready to make the next step?
It depends. I know, best answer on the planet.
Some guys thrive under additional responsibility and here's hoping Cole is one of those. From the times I've seen him play, I don't notice him too often, which is the best compliment you can give a defensive defenseman. For that same reason he's a good ying to Petro's yang. If Cole plays it closer to the chest it lets 27 pinch in a little bit more than he might otherwise.

Re: Is Cole ready to make the next step?
I say it doesn't matter if he is ready, because he will have to play. Nothing left to prove in Peoria and he won't get better playing in the AHL.
I do notice that the roster is a man short, only 22 players listed. Either go with another forward, Porter or defenseman, Chorney.

Have to go with Phil McRae for the extra roster spot.
