ESPN Uni Watch Ranks Blues' 27th on Uni Power Rankings

Post by dmiles2186 »

Dropped them 2 spots.

I don't know if I'd put us that low, but not sure I'd go much higher. I say it all over this board, drop the stupid piping on the jersey and the swooshes on the shorts. Bring back horizontal striping like pretty much any other jersey in our history, save for the clown jerseys.

One of these days I want to get ahold of a jersey template and come up with a uniform mock up for new Blues digs.

http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/story/_ ... 0#comments

Still an excellent jersey crest, but it almost gets lost amid all the other nonsense. The apron strings, swoopy stripes on the pants, the collarbone horns -- it's all too much. And the third jersey, much like the Blue Jackets', feels like retro-by-numbers.
Meanwhile, the Sabres created new C/A captain patches. They look friggin' awesome.

I remember when the new (NEW!!!1!) Reebok jerseys for all 30 teams were released, and they all had that stupid contrast-color piping. How many teams still use it? By a quick perusal of nhluniforms.com, only 4: St. Louis, Colorado, Calgary, and Nashville. Great company there.

We are long overdue for new jerseys, even though we've only used our current ones for 6 seasons. The piping is dumb and we are desperately in need of a waist stripe. I like this concept I found, I think the only change I would make would be to remove the alternate logo from the shoulders on the white jerseys. You can leave em there for the homes because it doesn't have any shoulderpads.

Image

I would buy three of the Away whites if they took the logo off the shoulders.

Not bad. I don't get why the waist stripes are different between the home and away.

The third needs to disappear, stat.. as for that mockup, change it to have the jerseys have the same layout and ditch the shoulder patches, we need a bluenote, YELLOW numbers, YELLOW letters, and a YELLOW C or A, nothing else.

Really? I love it. It got a ton of praise when it first came out. Ours isn't the best but I've seen a lot worse.

I like our current jerseys. But, yeah, I'd much prefer a style pretty much like is mocked up above. That looks pretty damn good.

I can't stand the 3rd jerseys either, like said before; ditch the third jersey patch and we got a deal.

I'm a big fan of the 3rd. I think it's one of, if not the best in the league. Could be just me though.

They also ranked the Cardinals #1 overall. As in, #1 in all of pro sports.

I like our 3rd jerseys too. I wouldn't want that to be the regular jersey or anything, but I like the arch in the background.

The design above is really awesome and should replace our current jersey IMO. Our current ones are too busy. The apron stripe needs to go. Simpler, possibly with a slightly bigger blue note would be my preference. I like the waist stripe too.

The Arch is the one thing that distinguishes the third jersey. Yet it ends up being in the background. That's why I don't like it.

I would be receptive to something that puts the Arch front and center. Something like this:

Ugh. Red trim? Red ! For a team with blue in its name. Horrors.

The Blues should conduct a jersey buyback program to collect and destroy the red Ornest-Era jerseys.
