I'm here, just don't post much. For away games, I'll generally be on flashcast if I'm at home.

A better, more to the point, question would be where has the webmaster gone?

Are my 9000+ posts transferable to any other websites?

Shit, I've wasted my life, haven't I?

Honestly, there seems to be a decent amount of action at http://www.hfboards.com in the Blues forum there. The thought of starting over and being a n00b is a bit intimidating to me, however. Their GDT for the BJ's game is 13 pages long though; 321 posts and over 5700 views at the time of posting this! It's like a paradise...and I recognize a few of the names over there. Some are people who (very) periodically post over here. I don't see Flashchat though, which is a big negative. I like the group of people who are here, small as we may be. I feel like I'd just be a fish in a sea over there...I'm so conflicted.

My favorite part of that is that everyone seems to have no problem discussing the thread at hand without anyone telling someone else to get out, which the person then does. I'm not used to that here.

Also, there isn't just one or two people creating threads. It's a communal effort.

So is that the new hangout? And will we still be converging here for flashchats?

I would be in flashchat more often, but my game center stream is easily 2+ minutes behind you guys who get the live feed on cable, so being in flashchat often spoils the game for me.

This.

Also, activity has visibly dwindled for a while. I for one have consciously posted less because I just have too much shit going on currently, so for my part in the demise of LGB, I am sorry.

To give a little background, we were discussing how quiet this place has become recently in flashchat. A lot of notable posters of the past never come around anymore. It's no indictment of those that are still here and how often they post or not. For my part, I get that flashchat takes away activity in the GDT's while the game is going on. That is a bit of a bummer, but flashchat is so friggin' fun, so there's that. But even if GDT's are sparsely posted in, there's rarely any activity between game days. The place is a ghost town in the summer. There are rarely any non-game related threads. It's just a bummer. Bummer, bummer, bummer.

As a former/past “regular,” my opinion is that the flashchat played a role in slowing this place down. The GDTs had the most activity in them, and flashchat made them obsolete. I was around when flashchat first started, and kind of took over. I understand why people may prefer flashchat, and neither method is better than the other, but that is my opinion and two cents.

Edit: I see I am repeating alot of what dmiles2186 already stated above.

So what you're saying is that Dooger has won? I knew that bastard was quietly destroying the foundation of the forum until one day it would crumble on itself.
