My thoughts on the game...

I really thought once we blew the 2-0 lead, we wouldn't be able to get it back. But once it happened, I wasn't deflated, I still had a little hope like Game 1. I really couldn't believe Senko's shot went in. That was incredible and that dude is a Golden God. Just an overall solid team game from our guys. We're being physical, we're frustrating them. The only thing that disappointed me was how we took our foot off the gas and blew the lead. But you can credit for Chicago too, they really mounted a push and we started getting frantic.

It's amazing how close it is to us being down 0-2, but I'll take it. We're halfway there, but that's it. No need to sit on our laurels. We were in this position last year and blew it. Keep working.

What I find really weird is that, like last year, Steen had the OT winner in Game 1, and he repeated that feat this year. In Game 2, Jax had the winner in the 3rd period, and go figure, he gets the OT winner in Game 2. Keep plugging boys. Keep working. Go up to Chicago and get at least a split. We've gotta win one of these next two games.

Did anybody see Keith hit Tarasenko in the face with his stick on a faceoff right outside of the Blackhawk zone late in the game?

2 things struck me:

1. Good for Tarasenko to not retaliate at all. Keith was trying to draw a penalty from a young player to even the penalties in a 3-2 game.
2. Even if a penalty wasn't called, why didn't the referees step in? You see referees skate over and delay a face off all the time when a couple guys are getting chippy standing next to each other. He was hitting him in the face with his stick intentionally FFS. Obviously not hard, wasn't dirty per se. But, still, I'm surprised they allowed that to go on, especially given the context of the Backes injury.

Yeah, that was Keith who did that. A real classless player. I'm stunned. Really.

On the replay, he almost excitedly states that Seabrook's skate was still barely on the ice...so it was a clean hit. Then the other guys jumped in and pointed out the principle point of contact was the head...they seemed stunned Olczyk would say that.

I hate Olczyk. When I was up in the press box for a Blues-Hawks game a couple years ago, I passed Olczyk in the hall. I said "Hey Eddie...and put out my hand to shake his hand...he looked at me and kept walking." I kind of laughed, because I never liked him anyway...but he just confirmed the way I felt about him.
Anyway, during game #2, he was making subtle comments all game long the showed his bias...like he was watching the game through hawk-colored glasses (whatever the f*ck color that is). It was seriously pissing me off.
If I remember, when the Rangers won in '94 Olczyk had played very little during the regular season and not at all in the postseason, contributed maybe 2 or 3 points all season long and then was ineligible to have his name etched on the Cup because he didn't meet games-played requirements. Anyway he and the team bitched and bitched and eventually got them to relent and add his name even though he had practically no role whatsoever in that championship. He's a worthless puke who thinks more highly of himself than he should.

Just watched the Wakey Wakey video. Why did the faceoff move out of the zone? I thought penalties pretty much always resulted in an offensive zone faceoff.

Just watched the replay of the game on the NHL Network. They actually edited the game, and didn't show the hit, or the penalty. Don't understand that.

I really hope we do the smart thing and focus on winning the series.

I then hope our first regular season game against these douchebags results in Seabrook opening the Roman Polak door.

Olcyzk is one of the bigger wastes of talent in NHL history. A total bust considering his potential. He had all the tools but was generally considered a floater during his career. He always had the reputation of being lazy and generally not a winner.

Between the obnoxious Hawks fans I hear about at the Blues game (and see... WHAT THE HELL ST. LOUS?! STOP SELLING TIX!!), the crap I'm seeing some of my buddies posting on Facebook, Olcyk's comments... I f*cking hate the Hawks right now. With a raw hatred I haven't had at any point in their previous runs to the cups.

I don't care what team it is or how badly I hate you, I don't recall ever, EVER seriously desiring that an opposing player get hurt in order to benefit my team. More than a handful of times I've heard it from Hawks fans. I know they hate Backes and he's an intense player but my God. Happy that he got hurt and couldn't even stand up? Class. Pure class.

Eddie O is a piece of sh*t. Game a few years back that Weaver caught Sharp on the traintracks in the neutral zone with his head down and rocked him (I think cleanly) I've never paid a bit of attention to what the guy had to say. Most announcers have bias, fine, but Eddie is just so obvious about it I kinda wonder why NBC even has his announcing to be honest.

I thought we lost that game. We should've been up 3-0 or 4-0 and I just kept thinking "worst lead in hockey, worst lead in hockey" but the boys found a way to get it done. We HAVE to win one of these games in Chicago. I agree with Dmiles this thing could just as easily be Hawks up 2 games to 0 but it's not. Blues have to put a dagger in these guys and have the series at 3-1 coming back to St. Louis. A sweep would be the most glorious thing ever but I seriously doubt that's going to happen.

If the defense comes down past the faceoff dots to engage in an 'altercation' the faceoff moves out of the zone.

Apparently hearing started at 11AM CT. Maybe it's over and they just haven't made their video yet, but this is taking a long time. I know it's unrealistic, but it would be awesome if the league came out and said they decided to do a second hearing, in person this time.

3 games. I'm not happy with it, but I'm not furious either. I think it should be 5+ personally. But, it's actually longer than I thought the NHL would actually go. I was expecting 2 games max with an outside shot at 3.

I just watched the video of this. It doesn't mention head being principle point of contact even once. That's a bit disappointing.

I'm okay with three games. I'm not okay with Bickell not getting a suspension. He had two different dirty hits, and didn't even get a pat on the wrist.

Someone else said it, may have been you. Too lazy to look back in the thread, but any kneeing penalty should be at least a double minor if not more. That shit is dangerous.

I don't know how game 3 will turn out, but I think they might want to keep a couple extra ambulances on call. It could get ugly out there. Line brawls on tap?
