An inline tournament for a great cause has been scheduled and needs players.

Jeff Ponder is heavily involved in the St. Louis Blues circles. He is a former Blues media member, a former contributor to insidestl.com, he wrote for this site for a while, was a co-host on KSDK's faceoff show, he has been on numerous Blues podcasts including our own Lets Go Blues Radio show...and he currently writes for thehockeywriters.com.
Jeff's father was recently diagnosed with Myelofibrosis along with Myelodysplasia. They are organizing an inline hockey tournament at Midwest Sport Hockey in Queeny Park on Nov. 21st to help with the financial side of things...which everyone knows can be staggering. In addition to the hockey tournament, there will be a DJ, a cash bar, a 50/50 drawing, and some giveaways of donated items from local businesses and whatnot. It should be a real good time and it is for a great cause.
Jeff is a good guy and has contributed a lot to the St. Louis Blues universe over the years. It would be great if we could give back to his family a little.
If you play inline hockey and want to play in the tournament, you can find out more information here: http://sundayrollerhockey.com/page18
As I type this, 11 of the 40 skater spots are filled...and 4 of the 5 goalie spots are filled. There will be a fantasy draft-type of deal when teams are picked.
If you don't play inline hockey, consider stopping by for a drink or two, hang out and watch some hockey, listen to some music and have a good time. The ceremonial puck drop is at 3:30pm...the tournament is supposed to last until around 11:15pm... and the bar closes at 1am.
I hope some of you can make it out!
