Colton Parayko

Post by WaukeeBlues »

I've been seeing some things along the lines of "bulging disc" in his back, that kind of horrible sounding stuff.

You guys been hearing the same thing?

Forget about this season, sh**, is his career in jeopardy? If he actually has a bulging disc in his back I don't know how it's not.

What a craptastic irony that 16 games after letting the #1 RD go because you feel your #2 can handle the top job (among other reasons), he goes down with a serious injury.

Definitely sucks. Someone with more orthopedic knowledge correct me, but I am under the impression a bulging disc is not necessarily a career-ender. Surgery and a long recovery period with physical therapy, yes, but I think once bulging discs are repaired, the individual can pretty much get back to 95-100% ability without any long-term impact.

I have been pleased recently with the Krug/Faulk pairing. Their recent play at least helps mitigate the loss of Parayko. Scary to think what this team might have been capable of if they did not have all these injuries.

It's recoverable if he has the surgery. Sooner would be better than continuing to wait. 6 month recovery time.

Still really worried. I say you just shut him down for the rest of this year. They just put him on IR so maybe that's the thought anyway. I know they're being purposefully cryptic about it but yea they need to approach this as conservatively as possible I would think.
