You should be thanking 007 for your post count.OS wrote:First of all, SportsLounge was created with 007's failed campaign to get me banned failed. And I will gladly take credit for ridding this place of that douchebag.kodos wrote:Sports Lounge, not the other place. And yes, it was because of you. When I was a mod here, I would get a constant stream of PMs with people endlessly bitching about you.
I always defended you. What I didn't realize at the time, is that you were just kissing my ass because I was a mod. Pretty smart on your part.
Secondly, I never kissed your ass. Honestly, I dont even remember you being a moderator and couldn't tell you who are the moderators on this site right now. Have you really been posting on a board with me for almost 10 years and still not figured me out? I don't care who you are, my best friend, my own mom, if I don't agree with something I tell it like it is.. or at least how I think it is. If that offends you, sorry, don't read my posts. Curt added an ignore feature to help you out.

I know I wasn't the cause, which is why I said that. Kodos probably also doesn't know that I still chat regularly with some of the people that he thinks I ran off.stlbluz wrote:You were not the cause, though I'm not sure that 'running somebody off' because you had differences of opinions would be something to be proud of. So a few of the many people I think hate you don't actually hate you.
That's something to be proud of.
Either you are happy that people hate you or you aren't. Which one is it?

That's it exactly.OS wrote:iTunes is fine as a media player. I don't use it, but I've never really had a problem with it. I don't think Curt's point was that iTunes sucks either, it was that it's stupid that iPods require you to use iTunes and that you can't simply drag and drop music on there.
I don't really hate iTunes...iTunes does some very cool things... but I hate the fact Apple tries to make you use it if you want to use your ipod.

I don't want to be forced to use ANY media player to manage my music on my mp3 player, not from the mp3 manufacture, or a 3rd party.Mark wrote:Which this requirement is typical for Apple's products, but a benefit at the same time.OS wrote:iTunes is fine as a media player. Most hardware companies might sell you a piece of hardware to use with another piece of software. Apple develops both which generally leads to the product working better from the hardware to the software, and the better overall support.
There's nothing I love more than getting stuck in the middle between a hardware company who blames the software for a problem, then when you call the software company, they blame the hardware. I get stuck with this issue several times a year with different commercial products.
No, having everything come from one company isn't always the perfect solution, but it is nice to have just one throat to choke.
I want to be able to drag and drop music to and from my ipod, just like you drag and drop files from folder to folder on your computer.
Give me that option. To use iTunes, or Windows explorer when I plug in my ipod.

I've had about a total of one hour worth of work to do all day.. If you notice, my post rate drops about 90 some percent during the evening. Who really cares who can't stand who on here? I'm sure all sortsa people on here both past and present couldn't stand me. But you know what? It's an internet messageboard and has no effect on my life, so I go the eff on with my day.kodos wrote:You seem pretty engrossed.

Microsoft does the same thing. As much as I like my Mac, I like the new generation of Zune better than my iPod. The only things I don't like about my Zune are that it is PC only (in an age when you can use a Mac-made ipod with a pc), and the stupid Zune software. No drag/drop, only the clunky and super buggy Zune software.cprice12 wrote:That's it exactly.OS wrote:iTunes is fine as a media player. I don't use it, but I've never really had a problem with it. I had noticed that. It seems to me that you do about 68% of your posting during the day, and then only about 14% from 6pm to about 9pm, and then there is another spike at about 9:30. Interesting patterns. I'm going to give these finding to OPTIMEGUS to crunch and I'll get back to you...Mellanby_equals_grit wrote:I've had about a total of one hour worth of work to do all day.. Exactly...lie of the day.kodos wrote:Really? I hadn't noticed.OS wrote:I don't care if people hate me on an internet message board.
As for MP3 players, I would suggest going with something that uses removable storage like SD cards, etc. As the storage capability of these cards goes up (I have seen 8 gig now), more media players will switch to it, as it is way more stable and less prone to catastrophic damage. One bad drop of an iPod and you're screwed.
