Re: Trading block…

My gut says it will be something similar to Anaheim’s return on Fowler. A third and a lottery ticket or maaaaybe a second. He’s having a down year but has been very solid for a very long time.

Re: offseason

Krug to miss the season after ankle surgery Via one of JR’s articles, possibly career threatening injury. Too many unknowns. Poor guy can’t even carry his kids up the stairs some days. I liked the signing a little at first, (I assumed the end of it would be rough) but he’s been a bad fit for the te...

Re: offseason

Damn. Oil traded cece. I assume that means they are keeping broberg. Damn! Edit: The only potential saving grace is they did get a rh d man in the cece deal. Maaaaaybe him and Podkolzin are their plan to replace broberg and Holloway since they will need all the monies for drai and Bouchard next year...

Edmonton just traded for Podkolzin. That sure looks like a Holloway replacement to me.

Re: offseason

I’m guessing they signed both to make it extra tough for edm to decide. Gutsy move but the next two years are about a reload anyways so might as well weaponize the cap space. Go Doug!

Re: offseason

Maybe they plan on packaging Krug/leddy with perunovich for another dman.

Grasping at straws as we appear to have 5 viable (whether due to hefty contract or potential) left side dmen. (Per jr)

Re: offseason

I’m guessing suter is 7th dman insurance type of signing.

Trade in the works? Lots of dmen on the roster.

Re: offseason

Interesting moves. Essentially swapping Hayes and a 2nd for Joseph, faksa and a third. They must have really not liked Hayes game, because they traded for two guys who on the surface, look likely to produce less than him, one of which makes almost as much as Hayes. Maybe they think they can flip fak...

Re: offseason

That’s a good point. It makes more sense if we sign a fa replacement. Then it’s effectively a trade of Hayes and a 2nd for Fa center.

Re: offseason

Oof, we trade Hayes and a 2025 2nd (!) for future considerations. Yes Hayes was overpaid, even at his half salary of $3.6m, but he has two years left and, barring a big dman trade, we aren’t seriously competing in those two years. We had to give up a 2nd to get rid of him?! A 4th or higher? Fine (I’...

Re: offseason

I’m not sure I really want them to use that cap space yet, unless it’s really for someone for that next window. I can’t see us being able to move a dman, so we would just have to wait it out another year or two. (I’m hoping Krug might be easily moved or bought out in his last year) I’d sign a couple...

Oof, Buchy can’t convert on an ot penalty shot and Vegas wins it. 5 points back instead of 2/3, with 10 left (11 for Vegas)… it’s never over until it’s over, but it would take craziness at this point.

Re: GDT #72: Blues vs Golden Knights | 7:00 pm CT | BSMW, 101 ESPN

With a win the Blues can stay within a decent chance of sneaking into the playoffs, with their lighter schedule vs Vegas’ tougher one. Though still a bit of a long shot.

If the blues lose, it would then take a pretty big run by us and tank by Vegas to do it.

Big big game.

Re: all quiet on the western (trade) front

I’ve long given up on moving a dman. Unless you include a pick to a team in tank mode looking to hit the cap floor, who would want them? Maybe in a couple years after the cap has gone up a bit and they are on the last year of their deals. I think that’s when the blues need to target their next windo...

Re: all quiet on the western (trade) front

Ah well. I had hoped we could move at least scandella for a lottery ticket but oh well. I don’t blame DA for keeping the price high on buchy. You can always try again next year.

Sunny resigned. 2 years, $1.5m per.

So he isn’t getting traded.

Re: all quiet on the western (trade) front

What am I missing on the tarasenko trade. He’s on pace for mid 20s goals and almost 60 points, at $5m. Just getting a 4th and 3rd? I know he’s an ufa and getting older, but that’s not worth a 2nd?
