Maybe he's playing shit lines to make a point that he wants upper management to call up some of his boys from Peoria. Either that or he's pining to go back in the form of being fired from his job in St. Louis.

There is NO EXCUSE to ever play Cam Janssen. The kid only plays a couple minutes a night and his sole purpose is to get into a fight. Goon will disagree wholeheartedly forever, but I don't see the value in wheeling a guy out there for one shift to get into one fight with the other teams goon who will also not play more than one or two shifts and then sit on the bench most of the rest of the night. Who the hell is he protecting? You wheel out a guy who who has grit and also an ounce of hockey skills otherwise, and let them get into the fights, serve their 5 minutes, then get back out there and score a goal or make a great defensive play.

He may have been hands of stone, but I think Jamal Mayers > Cam Janssen all day. Ol' Cam serves no purpose on this team other than to take a roster spot away from a kid who deserves a chance.

As for Armstrong and Crombeen and Winchester, I can just conclude that someone upstairs is content with putting a crappy team on the ice.

I too raised an eyebrow to the Winchester/Bergie/DP line when I saw the line-up, but that line was kick ass last night.

Winchester and Crombeen seem to care out there. I have not watched that much this year but each time I see them play, they're playing passionately.

Give them some substantial ice time and see what they give you. See if the team WINS. Who cares if they score a ton of goals.... are we WINNING?

And glen, I would have called you out had I seen your post before the game. Winchester and BJ are two of my favorite players on this team. I'd put them on a line with Backes centering and watching the other team piss their pants.
