The KHL is televised from time to time. It's a nice alternative.

Re: If the Blues were to move...
I think the general rule that I've seen on the interwebs is that if you city gets a team, you can drop your prior allegiance with no guilt whatsoever. Same would go if you moved into an area with a team. It makes sense.Kerfuffle wrote:The problem with following a team after they move is that you may have a conflict later on if your city receives another franchise down the road. Minnesota North Stars moved to Dallas so if a Minnesota native followed them then what did they do when Minnesota was awarded another franchise in the Wild. Do you still follow the Dallas Stars at that point or do you follow the Minnesota Wild? I think my allegiance would be tied to the city first.
Again, going back to the Rams example, should they move and I follow, say, the Colts...I know in the back of my mind that if STL ever gets a team again, that would be my team no question. I don't think there's anything wrong with that if your fandom is geographically based.

If I moved to St. Louis, I certainly wouldn't take up an allegiance to the Cardinals. If you're all about awesomeness and living in the past, then you must be a Yankees, Canadiens, Steelers and Celtics fan?dmiles2186 wrote:It's just because you cannot handle that much awesomeness.glen a richter wrote:If I moved to St. Louis, I certainly wouldn't take up an allegiance to the Cardinals. Me either. I still remember their despicably dirty teams from the 90s. F them too.Kerfuffle wrote:Not mecprice12 wrote: I always find myself rooting for the Maple Leafs for some reason...maybe because I feel sorry for them.
The nobility of loyalty aside-your loss.glen a richter wrote:If I moved to St. Louis, I certainly wouldn't take up an allegiance to the Cardinals. Never, ever, ever.

If you want to call a World Series 4 years ago, 3 straight NLCS appearances after that (and another WS appearance), and 3 straight division titles is in the past, then sure...glen a richter wrote:If you're all about awesomeness and living in the past, then you must be a Yankees, Canadiens, Steelers and Celtics fan?

Then you should be a Giants fan until the recent era Cardinals catch up in WS titles... just sayingdmiles2186 wrote:If you want to call a World Series 4 years ago, 3 straight NLCS appearances after that (and another WS appearance), and 3 straight division titles is in the past, then sure...glen a richter wrote:If you're all about awesomeness and living in the past, then you must be a Yankees, Canadiens, Steelers and Celtics fan?

By this logic, you should be a Blackhawks fan.glen a richter wrote:Then you should be a Giants fan until the recent era Cardinals catch up in WS titles... just sayingdmiles2186 wrote:If you want to call a World Series 4 years ago, 3 straight NLCS appearances after that (and another WS appearance), and 3 straight division titles is in the past, then sure...glen a richter wrote:If you're all about awesomeness and living in the past, then you must be a Yankees, Canadiens, Steelers and Celtics fan?

Re: If the Blues were to move...
I mean, Cards are only 1 behind in the last decade and have the same number of World Series appearances since the early 2000's. And yeah, 3 titles in 5 years is awesome, but I'll take a 15 year run with only 1 sub .500 record, 12 playoff appearances, 4 World Series appearances, 2 World Series titles, and 9 (I believe) NLCS appearances as a consolation prize.glen a richter wrote:Then you should be a Giants fan until the recent era Cardinals catch up in WS titles... just sayingdmiles2186 wrote:If you want to call a World Series 4 years ago, 3 straight NLCS appearances after that (and another WS appearance), and 3 straight division titles is in the past, then sure...glen a richter wrote:If you're all about awesomeness and living in the past, then you must be a Yankees, Canadiens, Steelers and Celtics fan?
