Right before Sundqvist's breakaway goal on that same shift, Thomas did outstanding work defensively, simply skating to the right place to take away passing lanes or box out the right guy to take away a potential shot opportunity. He did it repeatedly on that shift which forced Calgary to stay to the outside over and over and over again, eventually leading to the turnover and goal.
