As we all probably know, Blues have the option of keeping their 2011 First Round Pick if it falls in the top 10. And following this is about the most interesting thing involving St. Louis Blues hockey at the moment

(I know it's a lottery and anything can happen. Spare me the technicalities, however. There is also a large degree of sarcasm inherent in this entire thread. It's either laugh or cry.)

72 pts 4th Overall: New York Islanders
74 pts 5th Overall: Ottawa Senators

82 pts 9th Overall: Minnesota Wild

Btw, most points the blues can get is 91, look forward to seeing this number decrease.

With the way the Islanders and New Jersey are playing...we could easily end up with the 5th overall pick...but that's probably as good a pick as we can get.

Plus we have a game in hand on Atlanta (in this case, we've played one more game so we have less total points available to us). Unfortunately, the Islanders have a game in hand on us.

My best guess is we finish with the 6th pick.

It can also serve as a great indicator as to Payne's coaching ability. We need to see that he understands the situation, shows a since of urgency, and has the pulse of his team.

Seeing TJ 'fester' on that third line and choosing BJ as the 6th man when pulling the goalie were good signs, but can Payne maintain this for the final 2 and a half weeks?

Okay, so thanks to our awesomely pointless win streak to end the season ( ) We are currently tied with the Toronto Maple Leafs for the 10th overall pick in points (though they got the tiebreaker) and it doesn't look like we're going to move much from there.

Just to rub it in, the 12th overall team? Carolina Hurricanes, in the playoff hunt still

I'm 50/50 if they get the top 10 pick. It's a top 10 pick still, but unless the Blues really got their heart set on someone might just be better to let it go this year and get it over with. Though if we finish 11th it's all a moot point and Colorado just bent us over on that aspect of the deal

I want the Blues to win every game, and not apologize to anyone for doing so. The Blues may switch picks with Colorado at 9 or 10 anyway, so might as well give them pick 11.
