It's Christmas in February! I still predict the Blues won't be doing anything.

I agree. I would be completely shocked it the blues did anything that affected the NHL roster this deadline. I just don't think there is anything out ther that fills our needs at a price we are willing to pay.

I think the Blues may do something...which they should...but nothing more than a depth player unfortunately.

They have said it time and time again...dollar in, dollar out.
Anyone who expects anything else simply isn't listening.

Because teams always do or don't do exactly what they say they are doing or not doing.
I'm not saying they are going to make a significant move...just saying this franchise has NEVER tipped their hand on what they may be planning or looking at.

Great hockey talk on Sportsnet's Live coverage at sportsnet.ca.
4 GM's on there telling past stories on deadline day... lot of Blues talk.

My gut says Blues don't make any moves today, but never know. And, I definitely don't expect anything big. However, it's worth mentioning that the Shattenkirk trade came out of nowhere, but last year's and this year's circumstances are FAR different.

Bob McKenzie tweeted that he is hearing strong rumors of Kostitsyn to Nashville.

Tim McKernan had Chaser on his radio show this morning and tweeted the following:
"Chase: I know it frustrates fans, but the number of dollars that the team can add is zero. Period.
Chase: The Blues can't add on any salary at this point, so the only move that can be made is a lateral one."

I understand that....I'm just saying that it would be foolish for any of use to 'expect' otherwise.

Per Lebrun on the Montreal-Nashville trade:
"In return for Kostitsyn, Preds deal 2nd rd pick in 2013 plus return the conditional pick they got in Hal Gill trade"

It is disappointing just how quiet a trade deadline it's been so far. Still 3 1/2 hours to go.

Carolina could have a trade imminent. Apparently 2 of their Dmen (Allen and Spacek) left the ice during practice while the other Dmen kept practicing. Could be nothing, but with nothing else happening this is pure excitement lol.

Disappointing on one hand, and a good thing for the Blues on the other.
Since we probably aren't doing anything of significance, it's good that Detroit/Chicago, etc aren't wheeling and dealing and improving left and right.
But there is a lot of time left. Surely Chicago & Detroit will improve some....hopefully not though.

I don't expect much from the Blues. The resources ($) just aren't there.
I think the 2nd round pick they got for Bishop will serve them well next year. Pretty good move by Army.

I look on with envy as the preds beef up.. REALLY hope we don't see them in the playoffs.

Blackhawks pick up Johnny Oduya from Winnipeg for a 2nd and 3rd rounder.

Think Tampa Bay wanted to make some changes along their blueline?

Wow.
I'm just fine with Army getting out of the market if that's the going rate.
Pilon-esque players are going for 2nd rounders or better. Is Oduya really any better than Huskins? This is a GREAT year to be a seller and frankly a cost-prohibitive year to be a buyer. It would be nice to get a scorer, but a legit scorer would probably require a 'Garth Butcher' trade where we end up dumping an entire line, plus some picks.
I hate to say it, but this is one of those WarGames trade seasons - the only winning move is not to play.
