Man, we locked up (most likely) a top 2 overall pick and we crushed the Saints. Chance at a .500 season still alive!

Re: St. Louis Rams 2013 (And other NFL stuff)
Two things after the win against the Bucs yesterday.
#1: Robert Quinn should win Defensive Player of the Year. I'm biased. Other Rams fans here are biased. But good god, that guy is a monster. You look at the defensive players from that 2011 Draft, the one including Quinn, and it's astounding the talent that came from that group.
#2: If you would have told me after the Rams lost to the Titans to fall to 3-6, that they would finish with at least 7 wins while staring at the Colts, Bears, 49ers, Cardinals, Saints, and Seahawks all on the schedule, I would have thought it was impossible. To beat the Colts, Bears, and Saints shows what this team is capable of moving forward. It's a bummer we couldn't beat the Falcons, the the Titans, or the Seahawks (when we had them dead to rights), but it's a team that's right on the cusp.
The stat I saw that was most telling is that Fisher is now 14-16-1 with the Rams. Not great. However, in the 5 years prior, they were 15-65. That's a pretty astounding turnaround. And so often in the NFL, you see a team like the Rams who may finish 7-9 or 8-8, but go on a run in the 2nd half of one year, and then parlay that into a winning record/playoff run the next year. The 49ers did it a few years ago when they turned it around, the Panthers last year running into this year. I hope that will be us next year.
The Cowboys pulling off the late win against Washington keeps our hopes of the #1 overall pick alive. That's definitely going to help moving into next year. The third year of the Fisher/Snead regime will keep things moving. A lot of things to look forward to.

Crappy end to the season. But the Rams have the 2nd and 13th picks in the draft. That's outstanding.
Also, I wrote a Fanpost over on Turfshowtimes. Go read if you are so inclined.

Robert Quinn really is a beast. When we drafted him I thought it was a solid value pick after he missed a year, but it has turned into a best-case scenario thus far. If he can keep this up, he's going to put together a ridiculous career.
