I think they've already tried getting him. He's got a cush job in NY making twice or maybe 3 times what he'd make here. No need for him to give that up. It would have been great, but I don't see him ever leaving NYC.

The ONLY thing that I love about it is that he doesn't even try to hide his Hawks bias. Even when he was with PHX, when they were playing the Hawks it was obvious that he was cheering for the Hawks.

Still, to see a guy who is personally as cool as Pang...and a former Blackhawk...broadcast for that team makes me want to puke.

We'll trade you Olczyk for Pang, straight up.

I didn't start to dislike Olczyk as an announcer until the playoffs last season, specifically the conference finals. On a national broadcast, you can't show bias, I understand that. I just thought it was retarded how for the first 2 rounds, he harped constantly about how great the Hawks were. Then as soon as we get to the Conf finals and he's on a national broadcast, he does nothing but rip on us.

On a personal level he's pretty cool, though. He'll talk hockey with you for as long as you want, and it's always fun to get the chance to talk to a guy who played for as long as he did.

Cool Pang story...I was at the game in 2000 (?) in STL when MacInnis broke Thibault's finger with that monster shot. Pang was doing the ESPN game, and I knew him as approachable, so I walked up by the ESPN booth during intermission to ask him what happened to Thibault. He told me, and then I started to walk away figuring that he probably wanted a few minutes to himself during the break. He stopped me and continued to talk to me for a good 5 minutes. Cool guy for sure, you guys will love him, and do it if you ever get the chance to meet him.

Darren Pang is at the bottom of the barrel with Keith Jones IMO. Are you ready to hear stories starting with "When I was an NHL goaltender..." every night Blues fans?

The guy is lame and steals the mic from the play-by-play announcer. While I would like to hear less from Kelly, he should be able to talk more than the color commentator.
