NEW YORK - Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday at a downtown Manhattan residence in a possible drug-related death, police said. He was 28.
According to WNBC, Ledger was found with pills strewn all around him.
NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the Manhattan apartment believed to be his home. The housekeeper who went to let Ledger know the masseuse was there found him dead at 3:26 p.m. ET.
The Australian-born actor has a two-year-old daughter with former fiancee Michelle Williams. Ledger was set to play the Joker in the upcoming Batman film "The Dark Knight." He received an Academy Award nomination for his work in "Brokeback Mountain."

Any thought that maybe it was accidental? Things like that DO happen you know.

I suffer from depression and take medication for it. If he wanted help he would have got it way before something like this happened. I did.

Right b/c every single case of anything is exactly the same. No such thing as varying degree or anything. Do I really care that he died? Honestly not really I generally keep reading when I hear about celebrities dying b/c I can realize we live in a world where people die under tragic circumstances every single day and if I get upset over the ones who I don't even know then well, life will suck. However I think it's really harsh to say no sympathy at all. Depression really messes with how the mind works and can make things appear really distorted.
