"The Tudors" looks pretty interesting, though I've only seen a couple of episodes. Then again, I'm a sucker for basques.

Why limit yourselves to dramas? Get the Office!

Or, I like ER. The old school seasons...

I've heard Deadwood was a really cool show from a few people. I haven't seen it yet though.

West Wing was great--my favorite show of all, the only problem now being that they're all reruns since they stopped producing after John Spencer died of a heart attack.

House is my favorite show on TV now. It's funny, because a lot of my kids like it too and they're not really sophisticated enough to understand it. I think they just like it for the bloody scenes that occasionally pop up.

I'll never watch 24 because I somehow blame the oncoming of 24 for the cancellation of Boston Public which, at the time, was my favorite show.

Showtime had a couple of shows I really liked. Dead Like Me was great, as was Huff. DLM was cancelled and I don't know what happened to Huff. We cancelled Showtime after season 1.

A friend of mine really likes "The Unit" (He's a "Green Beret" (Army Special Forces) and thinks it's pretty realistic - I find it hard to argue with that.

BUT, if you like comedies, I'd Second the recommendation for "Sports Night" and I'd recommend Scrubs and maybe Seinfeld.

Tidbits on Sports Night: a) The writers from West Wing had a hand in SN - thus the shows actually had a plot and b) ESPN's SportCenter was "kinda the template" for the broadcast concept c) Robert Guillume ACTUALLY suffered a stroke near the end of the shooting of the 1st season which got "written into the plot" and really added some realism.

BUT, I'm not a TV Nerd...that's just one of the only shows I own on DVD.

I dunno. I enjoy sitting down for an hour long show that is part of a bigger story that is continued each time it's on...like Sopranos, Dexter, LOST, etc. It's like watching mini-movies each time they are on.

I've seen every episode of the Office.

However, we got into Arrested Development after it had been cancelled.
I hadn't seen it before when HDNET picked it up. We watched it from the beginning...I loved that show.
I ended up buying all three seasons on DVD as well. Good stuff.

I will say it again. WATCH 24. By the time you are halfway through the 2nd season, you will be back thanking all of us that recommended it. DO IT.
