I've had mine on all week. I like my house cold. So cold, that people typically complain when they come over... but screw em.

Life is too short to be uncomfortable in your own home. When it gets above 80, I turn on my AC.

Mine's been on for probably close to a month now, with the odd day off when it was unseasonably cold. I don't frank around when it comes to personal comfort.

I'm with Blueline. Having an 8 3/4 month preggo wife had something to do with it, but I also do not screw around when it come to personal comfort. I also have my hands down my pants 95% of the day. Perhaps that is why my social life has suffered. People enjoy the comfort of my home but do not enjoy the fact that my hand is on my genitals 95% of the time.

One of my friends in college kept his place around 50 degrees all winter long. He and his roommates would sit around in winter coats or covered in blankets to watch TV. The landlord said the heating bill was the lowest he'd ever seen. But what is the friggin point?? OK, you saved some money. I'd rather take that money I saved and spend it on turning the heat up!!

We're still running the furnace here in Portland. 66 degrees with "scattered showers". Oh well, at least it's still only March.... wait it's already June? Frank.......

I gave in 2 hours ago. I couldn't take it anymore. The 50% increase in humidity aided my decision.

What was his financial situation though? There are some of my college buddies that do that sort of thing out of necessity, not choice.

I always recommend those little $20-$30 heater fans that they sell at Target and Wal-Mart. Don't use too much electricity but MAN are they warm. Really helped me with my heating bill but let me have a warm room.

Yeah, ours came on over the weekend I think. It helps with our seasonal allergies too. I put the thermorstat settings on a timed rotation to help with the bill: 72 from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., 78 from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. (it takes several hours to warm up to 78 degrees most of the time... I've come home for lunch and it'll only be like 75/76) and then 75 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

I'm convinced that if there is a hell, it will be a lot like Fargo, only less summer.
