HDMI cables

Post by Leedog »

I need to get a cable or two. The Monster cables at best Buy are rediculous, and their Rocketfish brand is a little better, but not much. I googled and the top one was for a brand called Firefold. You can buy a 5' cable for like $5.99. Anyone have any experience about using cheaper cables, etc?

I always use cheap cables, and rarely have problems. With electronics equipment, you pay for the name more than anything.

Unless you're installing inside a wall or very long distances, there's no reason to spend a lot. I've had good luck with Monoprice for all home theater cables.

monoprice is your only destination for cables. With HDMI, the signal is 100% digital. Spending more money on cables will not be of any benefit whatsoever. Unlike analog cables, there is no signal to be lost.

As far as wiring & cables are concerned...yes. But if we're talking stereos, dvd players, etc...going cheap usually means a lesser product.
