On on the topic of Firefox... If you're running windows, you're much better off using Firefox than IE, but I suppose everyone knows that. I use Safari on my Mac. Works great...
Re: Firefox 3
The only time I use IE on my windows machines, is when I am forced to. Firefox is great.STL JA wrote:I love mine.cprice12 wrote:Call the press.kodos wrote:Yes. But Macs suck.

And I don't like Safari at all. I prefer Firefox on the Mac as well.

Re: Firefox 3
I've switched back and forth a lot over the last few years. With 10.5, I finally made the switch and I've stayed with Safari. It's fast and the OS-integration that you get with Safari makes it well worth using.
FF3 is nice, but the interface just feels clunky to me now. I like simplicity, Safari does that well.

I like a lot of little things about Safari... but I find that there are a lot of websites it just doesn't properly work for. It can be annoying.
I do 99% of my browsing in Safari, but have to bust out Firefox now and then when something just won't work.
I am liking firefox 3 more, I might try it exclusively for a while and see how it goes.

Re: Firefox 3
Been using Firefox since the .03 or .04 beta version, and it's great.
FF03 is clearly the fastest version yet.

I hear people say this but I've never found it to be the case.

Re: Firefox 3
Well, it's more of a problem with the older versions of Safari. It's usually flash stuff that doesn't work right.
Off the top of my head... Foodtv.com used to always crash it and oldnavy.com was always broken as well.
But I just tried both and they work fine. I think it had more to do with the fact that I was using 10.3.9 and Safari 1.x.
Now that I have everything up to date they both seem to be working.
It's not just those sites though... if I come across one I'll try and point it out.

I honestly haven't noticed any problems. I've only been using Safari since October though...kodos wrote:Well, it's more of a problem with the older versions of Safari. It's usually flash stuff that doesn't work right.

I'd love to know sites that don't.kodos wrote:It's not just those sites though... if I come across one I'll try and point it out.
I get tired of always shrugging my shoulders and telling people how Safari works just fine for me.

Re: Firefox 3
I use Safari too, but on a PC it's Firefox only. My Mac has trouble playing flash video (like on Youtube) but that's probably because it's a 900mhz G3 with 640ram.

Re: Firefox 3
So far, I'm really liking FF3, but there's one forum I'm a member of where it's almost totally unusable. The scrolling has a lag of about half a second and it's ridiculously irritating, so I have to have IE for that site and that site alone. Hmph.
Re: Firefox 3
Make sure that forums' admin is aware of the problem so he can take care of it.Blueline29 wrote:So far, I'm really liking FF3, but there's one forum I'm a member of where it's almost totally unusable.
