I have to say.. While I think Opeth is okay and enjoyed the last time they played Pop's.. It wasn't enough to excite me into seeing them again.

I went to buy beer during Opeth's set at Gigantour. It was a good break between Arch Enemy and LOG. The people behind us were huge Opeth fans and were upset they didn't have more time though. I just can't get into them that much.

Hah, opeth would be the one band I'd want to see out of those three. I liked Michael Amott... Just with Carcass instead of Arch Enemy. And Lamb of God... eh.

You would've fit in with the people behind us. My wife really likes Arch Enemy and they have grown on me. Angela can really growl and they put on a good show. Like Opeth, it took me longer to warm up to Lamb of God, but they are also fun to see live and get the crowd going. Opeth played like 3 of their long, slow, quiet songs and that was their whole set. It's just not as much fun to stand there and quietly listen to those complex prog/metal tunes sandwiched between the other high-energy headbanging bands.

Very true. I'm surprised Opeth went that route of playing considering they weren't a headlining band. One would figure they'd play more of their more agressive songs to keep the energy up for the next band, but apparently that wasn't the case. For example, when Type O Negative came in support of Hatebreed last month, they didn't play any of their slower songs like "Love You to Death"; they played mainly their higher-energy, crowd-moving songs. However, when they headlined over Celtic Frost last year when they came, they played the slower songs. Strange approach by Opeth.

Awesome. I love both bands. If they aren't coming to KC, I might make a roadtrip.

Today (Friday). At 5:00 p.m.

All General Admission ("limited seating"). I thinks this means the top area/2nd floor will not be open unless sales warrant it (if at all).

Dang, I guess they don't think this will attract that many people. Probably right.
