At the Avs game the other night, a guy behind me was explaining to his even dumber friends about throwing your hat on the ice for a hat trick (two Avs players had two goals in that game, so it was looking like a possibility). Then he added this gem:

"The Original Eight teams throw an octopus on the ice. The eight legs represent the Original Eight teams."

Jeebus, I thought in Colorado they had a decent amount of sense regarding hockey tradition. It's not like it's Tampa Bay or Dallas or San Jose. It actually snows in Colorado more than once every 30 years.

I'm currently involved in exchanging an electric pressure washer under warranty and apparently the company's policy is to cut the power the cord off and send that back and just throw the unit away.
