Leaving Ty Conklin in for this entire game means, in essence, that we didn't really want to win. Against Chicago.

Does anyone in this organization have a brain?

Important division game against rival Blackhawks...in Chicago...we just had two days off...tight race in the standings.

Why in the hell did we start our BACKUP goalie?

If Halak doesn't start this game, then why is he on the team? He can get a rest in a non-divisional game...he should have been playing tonight.

Conklin was horrible. Very Turek-like.

Before, all Janssen did was fight. Now, he gets thrown off the ice before he gets a chance to fight. Seriously--why is he on the roster?

Dear Blues players...just giving back goals. You work your butt off to make a game again, then what do you do? You try to break your necks to give them back that lead chipped away at.

You will win tomorrow night. I dislike paying for tickets to watch a losing product at home.

Watch, we'll score a grand total of 5 goals over our next 4 games now. This team invents new ways to be bad at hockies.

Brewer and Johnson. I am not even going to say it because that's all I have said after bad efforts all season. Things have to change with these two and fast. Johnson can make good passes all he wants, his poor defensive coverage are what matters. And Brewer is... well, Brewer.

Because Halak knows the Capitals whom the Blues face tomorrow night, maybe? Who would you rather have vs the Capitals ridiculous offense, Halak or Conklin?

I know - it's the Blackhawks and it is supposed to be our #1 goalie, but this jacked up scheduling is going to force tough decisions. This weekend, Halak already started b2b nights vs Dallas. Conklin had to pick up this game or the Caps game.

Plus I think it's important for the Blues to win again at home after this weekend. Halak provides the best opportunity to re-establish the House of Payne.

Division games are more important than games out of the division, and they are substantially more important than games against the East.
I understand Washington has a killer offense, but so does Chicago. They've both scored 86 goals this year.
I didn't like it when I heard Conklin was starting against the Hawks.

Of course, with hind sight being 20/20... if Halak started in Chicago, we'd have probably won and currently be in 4th place in the conference instead of 8th and be ahead of Chicago in the standings instead of 3 pts. behind them.

Just got home. Man I picked the wrong game to go to

First off, the Blues were obviously garbage coming out of the gate. They got a fluke set-up (that was actually pretty nice) goal to tie it originally but Jesus they were bad.

Post Crombeen fight- holy crap that was a new team. I will say this- if this team can play like they did after the Crombeen fight on anything approaching a consistent basis- I will shut up about complaining about this team forever. They got pissed off and it was awesome. The energy skyrocketed, they played smarter, actually sustained offensive pressure for more than 2 seconds at a time and combined with a Hawks let-down, was almost a beautiful thing.

PENALTIES!!! AHH!! When you're playing like crap early on- marching to the penalty box isn't going to help. And to be fair to Conklin, I'm not sure his luck could have been much worse tonight. All the bounces- ALL the bounces went the Hawks' way: either off the posts, between his legs or rebounds in front of the net, he had NO luck tonight. The Blues actually kill a penalty or (better yet) not take so many and they win this game.

Petro was studly tonight.

I actually didn't think EJ did too bad, I'm a little confused on the negative comments- he had a few good poke-checks and was pretty darn good on the transition game and in the offensive zone.

I swear to god every time I watch a full Blues game Eric Brewer scores a goal. I've seen, live, nearly every goal he's ever scored. Minus that, he was painful as usual. And slow.

Props to Jackman for sitting Kane on his ass for trying to have a pair and go after McDonald (which I'm not sure that was a penalty, I think Stalberg or whoever it was just fell, that was a pretty weak bump).

WHY WHY WHY is is that every time Kane has the puck, we are sitting there staring at him like he's God's gift to man?! We gave up a franking overtime winner earlier in the year because of it and Kane made some plays tonight because of it as well. Lock down on your assignments and stop f*cking staring at him- jeeze.

The Janssen-Scott fight was almost comical. I applaud Janssen's effort for trying to get his team to bounce back after going down early but Scott had almost a foot and a full arm's length on Janssen, that was pretty dumb of him.

The 2 minute offsetting minors at the end of the game was just to keep the game under control. Zero other reason. They were just standing there jawing at each other and the refs didn't want them to go again. Guaranteed.

And other than a stupid drunk kid most of the Hawks fans were pretty decent tonight. Good night, bad time to be at the United Center but had fun.

The last thing I'm going to say is that I am honestly not mad about this loss. The reason is pretty straightforward- although we got down bad and early, this team battled. And they battled hard. They could've bent over and completely taken it in the @$$ but from the 5-1 point on they played a hell of a game. Just played like garbage and had all the bad luck in the world beforehand. I think they will hands down win their next game; I think this one inspired them. Count on it.
