The following is an excerpt from the daily "Bernie Bytes" blog by Post-Dispatch columnist Bernie Miklasz:
Buckle up, Ryan Theriot. It could be a rough ride for the former Cub at Wrigley Field over the next few days. His "finally on the right side of the rivalry" remark in the offseason didn't play well on Chicago's North side. Over the winter catcher Koyie Hill said Theriot could expect to be knocked down, and pitcher Carlos Zambrano called him "the enemy."
Then again, Theriot may be in for some jeering when he returns to St. Louis after joining in on the fun on a Chicago sports-talk show (ESPN 1000).
When the hosts made fun of Cardinals fans wearing tank tops and cutoff jean shorts, Theriot laughed and enthusiastically added, "Tank tops, jean shorts and some Timberland boots." And then Theriot laughed again.
Wow, dude. Taking shots at Cardinals fans? The Cardinals fans who have largely overlooked your eight errors? Is that smart? Are you a double agent, or what?
And should Theriot be talking about boots, given all of the ground balls he's kicked around? Sheesh.
I know he was just joking around, but I don't see how Theriot helps himself by joining in on the attempt to reduce Cardinals fans to "Larry the Cable Guy" caricatures.

Seems pretty harmless to me. They only people who might get upset are the ones who wear tank-tops and cutoff jean shorts with Timberland boots. haha

Should I cut off the sleeves and wear this to the game?

People who don't care about people making a big deal out of nothing. Players socialize before games with opposing players. I don't see how this is much different.
