Everyone can argue if Halak has looked OK here and there or if he's terrible, but no matter which side of that fence you fall on, I have a question for you..
When the F!!!! is he going to be a STRENGTH. This is the NHL boys, and all I know is that we have two losses where I've had to hear "Their goalie really stood on his head and was the difference in this game." Our goalie doesn't stand on his head, he leaves give us headaches.

If one counts blocked shots for both teams, the Blues outshot Dallas 58-32. What really hurt is the Blues just missing getting to the pucks when Lehtonen was down and out. At least 4 times, the net was empty, the Blues had a guy on the backside, the puck got there, but just out of the reach of that Blues player.

Especially there in the third, they were storming the net and swinging at that puck and they just couldn't get it done.
That said, a lot of those juicy rebounds were the result of a lot of bad angle shots again. I don't have any problem with poor angle shots, but they really skew that SOG number.

The team isn't bad, but they clearly have a ways to go if they are going to be a playoff team.
Halak got beat, sure, but the Blues need to score more goals, too.
3 of those bad angle shots hit iron and had beaten Lehtonen, while some of them led to the just missed open nets. They count.
No, they don't. It is either in the net or not.
Shots that hit the pipe often hit the pipe because the net is covered by the goalie. He was on his angles, and that's the only thing to hit.
The best way to score in this league is to get the goalie moving from side to side. If you skate down the wing below the circle and shoot, the goalie isn't moving at all really. If one goes in from there, it's usually a softy - for examples watch our guy play goal.
