I'm wondering if 'Cock will request Army to do effectively what Keenan did... bring in a bunch of his old players. First trade is for a guy who played for him in Columbus.

How long until Douchebag Nash is wearing the note?

Army was already ahead of him by getting Arnott and Langenbruner. I'll take Nash.

Heck, the Blues were ahead of everyone as an organ-eye-zation when they drafted Pietrangelo who has since played for Hitchcock elsewhere... having perfect foresight and all.

You are correct, Jackman's trade value would double at the trade deadline and we could perhaps talk a team into inducing the laces with they used pair of two left footed skates.

Russell is going to wear #4. Shouldn't that jersey have been retired by now?

The good news is that Russell's first game is against the ol' Captain and his Lightning. No better way to initiate himself with his new fans than to lay Brewer out.

The more I dig into this deal the more I like it. Seems like a win-win for both teams. Roughly equivalent players who were clearly stagnating in their current environments. Very solid trade.

And yea, maybe Hitchcock DID see something in Russell when he was there and wanted to have him available for his scheme. Any time you can bring in guys who already buy into your system, never a bad thing from a coaching standpoint.

I tried to make this same trade in NHL 12 and Columbus' GM called me crazy.

That would be ideal.

I used to think that having Nikitin would somehow help Tarasenko come over, in the sense that he'd have a fellow Russian to help him out... Oh well. I wish N64 the best.
Well, we've still got Grachev, and he speaks better English than Nikitin too. Maybe that'll help.
If I'm remembering correctly, Tarasanko already speaks English at a fairly high level.

It's also impossible to trade a player in that franchise unless you are taking a loss.
