3rd period was kind of boring, but when you're up 4-0, boring is good.

I thought Elliott made a nice save early to really shut down the Avalanche's hopes of a comeback. He lets that goal in, we have a completely different ballgame.

Nice to know he can stay focused enough to make the saves when he isn't facing a lot of shots.

My favorite quote from Elliott last night: “It was pretty fun to watch the guys do their jobs out there. I got to touch the puck a couple times behind the net and it was awesome just [having] the guys play the way that they did.”

I don't recall the exact save you're referring to (my mind was elsewhere for much of the game), but I didn't mean that there weren't any highlights in the period. I remember thinking at one point though that it was almost as if both teams were just waiting for the final buzzer because the game was already long over.

Blues would still be in 2nd in that scenario as the Hawks would have the same amount of points, same number of wins..but the Hawks will have played one more game.

We had this happen in a game I was playing in back in the day.
I was on the faceoff at the right wing faceoff circle in the offensive zone, I lined up and the other team was slow to the faceoff as they were discussing who was doing what, so I put my stick down and said to the ref, "Let's go...drop it."...the ref waited a couple seconds more and finally dropped the puck when they weren't even close to being lined up. Since we were in the offensive zone, I just shot the puck off the faceoff dot when it was dropped...picked the upper corner, glove side and scored. I don't think the goalie was ready either. Oh, and the goalie's name? Patrick Roy...I kid you not (different guy obviously...same name though...weird)

The other team....was....pissed. It didn't help that they were a bitter rival of ours either.
