The Cardinals need to cut ties with McLaughlin.
It's just bad PR to keep him around. It's not like he's outstanding at his job and a sure fire HOF broadcaster or anything.

Sorry Dan, but you work in a field where you represent the St. Louis Cardinals organization...and you are sucking at representing the Cardinals and the city of St. Louis right now.

Frankly, its' embarrassing having him be a part of something I love to watch...Cardinal baseball.

Still surprised he's there since the second arrest? I imagine he'll stay suspended until the court stuff is worked out. Once there is a conviction, he'll be gone. Waiting for a conviction probably makes firing him safer legally.

This just about sums it up.

I had 2 friends die from drunk driving in high school, one because he was drinking and the other because someone drunk crashed into her. At my fraternity at Truman we ALWAYS had a DD assigned to every party till 2 AM to drive people home, or people called a cab. If kids on a college budget can do it in Kirksville, a millionaire in St. Louis can do it too. (Franking) moron.

The kids thing makes me more angry than anything. Is his wife still with him? If I were her I'd be raging right now.

I walk, I ride my bike, I get rides from others.....

I have no where near the cash available for cab rides he has yet I manage. This tells me two things...#1 he is an idiot that is completely unaware there is anyone in the world then him #2) he has no real friends to straighten his as out.

I'm thinking the same thing. What if he gets canned over this and can't get a gig anywhere for awhile? I'm sure he's got a huge ass mortgage. I guess getting his drink on is more important than his family's stability.

Anecdotally, he wrecked right down the street from where we used to party in high school.

What about LaRussa?

I'm not condoning what LaRussa did. It's shameful. But he is not a repeat offender. He made a mistake and hopefully doesn't do it again.
And other than the falling asleep at an intersection thing, he does not embarrass the organization. He does just the opposite...he wins...and wins a lot. He's the 3rd winningest manager of all time, and if he comes back next year, he will move into #2 all time. First ballot HOFer.

LaRussa also did not sleezily hit on a friend of mine at a Blues game....nor did he cuss out a friend of mine at Busch stadium when she was taking a group of little kids on a tour, because the kids were making too much noise.

McLaughlin is a asshole-douche with a drinking problem who can't stop himself from drinking and driving.
He's a so-so broadcaster that doesn't make the organization money. He doesn't draw fans.
The organization would be better off with him gone. The same can not be said about LaRussa.
