thanks Cardsfan for pointing out my error in assigning the draft time. It's been corrected so now it's PM instead of AM. I wouldn't dream of making anyone catch a draft at 8:30 AM.

Well, that makes on of us auto drafting then.

My daughter is in a play that evening so my team will be on autodraft.

For autodrafting half of the draft I didn't get overly hosed. I do have a couple of trade offers on the table right away though.

No big deal. I just have a lot of Birds and a lot of 1st baseman so I'm trying to work something out. The only thing 'off the market' is Wayno. I know his probably on an innings/pitch count this year, but I love the dude.

The only thing I can think of is that it's a reference to Bernie Madoff and a clever homophone of Mets. I don't know what Moetz is a reference to other than sounding like Mets though.

It is a reference to Bernie Madoff and his involvement in the downfall of the Mets, and concurrently a reference to another (in)famous NY'er (depending on how you look at it)--Bernie Goetz. Just as Bernie Madoff shot many peoples lives to hell, including Mets fans who are indirectly suffering because of Fred Wilpon's involvement with him, Bernie Goetz shot some hoods to hell for trying to mug him in the subway. Hence the combination.

It was actually wittier in my head. I'm sure by mid-April I'll grow to hate the team name.
