This is just really surreal. I never would've thought the Blues would be doing this in this postseason. Before the Hawks game 7 it was honestly the most nervous I have ever been before a sporting event, ever.

I was less anxious in this one just because I knew the Blues were the better team and they should've won, and thankfully did.

So weird. 15 years since this team has gone this far in the playoffs. And we were a bounce away from possibly losing that game 7 to the Blackhawks.

Really going to be paying attention to the game tomorrow night to see how this shakes out. Regardless, it's nice the Blues get an extra day of rest than their opponent will heading into the conference finals.

Well this isn't 2001, that's for sure. That Avalanche team was absolutely stacked. Both the Sharks and the Preds have weaknesses and I don't doubt for a second the Blues are deeper and more talented than either of them.

With the possible exception of the Penguins we have by far the most talented and productive 3rd line. It's shown itself throughout the playoffs.

This group (dare I say it?!) has broken out of the vicious cycle of faltering through lack of confidence but unable to build that confidence because they falter. Goals (solid series) from Backes, Berglund, Stastny....

Holy balls on fire, boys.

I echo the sentiment that 15/26/36 has been fire. Check this: Stastny is one of our highest paid player and has been ridiculed at times for underwhelming regular seasons. Brouwer comes over for a fan favorite in Oshie and has the "proven playoff vet" tag applied right away. And here they are just killing it and with a rookie no less.

Speaking of Fabbri, I got an update on my phone after that game that he's the youngest player to record 3 points in a Game 7. How's about that?

Elliott rebounded in a big way. Told some buddies today that of they would have announced Allen as the starter, my confidence in this team to win tonight would have dropped. I really thought Ells was going to get the shutout with the way he was seeing things.

Backes has proven his worth as a leader and he's putting pucks in the net. Good to see.

And you know what, Steve Ott was a perfect 4th line compliment for this game 7. He drew a penalty early and was laying the wood to guys. He set the tone before the game was in doubt.

And that's how I sum up his Game 7: it was so good that it made me like Steve Ott, if only for an evening.

I really thinking playing Edmundson, for whatever rookie warts he brings to the game, is crucial. By my count, they're 0-3 when he doesn't play and Shatty has to switch sides. Just stick with what works on D.

Also, just to put this out here since there have been a lot of Army haters (and I was pretty upset we didn't make many moves at the deadline): It's easy to see now that the Oshie for Brouwer deal (with Copley as a throw in) was a genius move. Brouwer has been huge and exactly what this team has needed this postseason.
