Dunn has not looked out of place out there. And he and Bortuzzo have played fairly well together. I was surprised to see him out there in this first game on the road.

Nice drive by Schwartz on a 2-man breakout with Schenn, who made the good feed!

The Schenn & Schwartz duo has been outstanding.

Been watching NHL games since the mid-70s and I've never seen 2 periods where the sticks have stayed this low for almost the entire 2 periods. If the officiating sticks to their guns, for the most part, sticks staying low will open up the game some until players re-adjust to playing 1940s/50s style defensively.

Imagine Thompson working with those two, instead of trying to feed Sundqvist and Paajarvi.

I'd like that, too. So nice to see Thompson looking like he belongs out there in his 1st NHL game, on The Stanley Cup Champion's home ice. He's holding his own already in The NHL, and he's just a stringbean. Imagine how much better he'll be when he's 6ft 5in and 22o lb (instead of 180), and after he's a lot stronger (those added 40 lb will be all muscle), and he gets used to his new weight and strength. He should be an excellent power forward with a lot of skill and a scorer's touch. He knows how to put the puck in the net.

Beautiful play by Sobotka and Stastny on Stastny's goal for the 4-2 lead. I hope The Blues can win this one going away.

A big NO NO by Schenn, cupping his hand and tossing the puck out. The Blues had better hang on to this game. Never mind. The Pens score 2 goals quickly. Boo! Hiss!

Imagine indeed. When Steen returns, I fear Sobotka will stick in the top six. You can see the confidence and skill Thompson has, though. He could be a scary player.

At least Brayden got his "Blues Moment" out of the way. That was hilarious.

Nice win. Not convinced Sobotka can play at that level for an entire season, but if he can play that well until player's start returning from injury, the Blues should be okay.

Schenn was screwed as soon as he gloved that puck. There are two Penguins right on top of him, so if he drops it immediately as required, the Pens are going to be all over it, likely before he could even get a stick on it. No-win situation for him at that point.

The Jets looked awful. Started strong, couldn't score on 3 straight power plays and collapsed. So a Central Division foe taking a bad loss is a good thing since it should hurt their confidence somewhat, especially in their goaltending.

A little surprised we put up 4 regulation goals against Pittsburgh, given our injuries, but hey, no complaints.

Petro on pace for a 164-goal season!

The Blues defensemen have been freed offensively the way they were in the 15-16 season. When Joel Edmundson winds up in front of the Penguins goal setting a massive screen in 5-on-5 play, it shows a clear departure from last year's "lack of" offensive scheme.
